Minecraft is an online game that allows players to play with each other in a sandbox/survival setting. The goal of each player is to last for as long as he can. Players may also attack each other, or play together.

What’s more, is that Minecraft gives players the ability to create and handle their own server (called realms). Obviously, you will have to buy these servers, as they are your own private servers. A realm usually cost players on a monthly basis. He is free to invite any player he likes or makes it only available to his friends and family.

How to Fix Minecraft Realms Lag?

Having your own private server may sound cool and all, but it is important that the realm is playable for you and other players. We have seen plenty of cases where a Minecraft realm will lag like hell, making the game unplayable.

This is why today; we are going to take a look at some of the reasons why you may be facing lag in your or any particular realm. We will also be giving the solution for each reason. So, without any further ado, let’s get started:

  1. Too Many Players in a Realm

The first reason may be due to having too many players in a realm. The server may get overloaded due to the fact that numerous players are doing similar activities all at once.

It is important to note that it does not matter how many players are on a server, rather what matters is how many players are currently active on the server. If the number of active players is too much, your realm will start to lag. The lag will be noticeable to everyone playing on the server. Hence, you may need to keep the player count in check.

  1. Low-Spec Hardware

Another reason why the realm may be lagging could be due to the fact that your hardware isn’t all that good. If that is so, then you will lag whenever there is too much on the screen to load.

So, the only way to fix that is to make sure you have a good setup, one that can run Minecraft without any problem. If you are the one who owns the realm, and you’re sure that your hardware’s fine, then you may want to allocate more RAM to your server. We have already done an article on how you can do so. Make sure to check it out!

  1. Poor Connection

The final reason why you may be facing lag in Minecraft realms might be due to the fact that you have a poor connection. Ensure that you have a strong Wi-Fi connection. We suggest switching to Ethernet as it is a lot more reliable than Wi-Fi.

Also, check if you are getting enough bandwidth by running a speed test.

The Bottom Line

These are the 3 ways on how you can fix Minecraft realms lag. Make sure you follow all of them properly.

  1. The realms has 3 players only
No red stone contrctions at all.
    Ps4 with minecraft only.
Other 2 devices are a samsung tablet
    And a samsung phone.

The realm (only the realm) laggs even when I am by myself playing.

Other worlds with tons of redstone contractors being the same 3 players playing conected on lan. It works perfectly fine.

    • I’m having the exact same problem but I’m on a PS5 playing on a friends realm. I have like 1-2 seconds of delay opening chests, breaking and replacing blocks and other things that involve interaction.
