There are a few restrictions when it comes to transferring a character in WoW. As most players are not aware of these restrictions, they get annoyed when they are not able to transfer characters.

How to Fix Can’t Transfer Character in WoW?
- Clear Your Mail
Blizzard does not allow players to transfer characters that have mail in their mailbox. If you’re getting the same error then the first thing you need to do is to double-check whether or not you have any mail on the character you’re trying to switch.
If you have checked that there is no mail and still, you’re running into the same error then what you should do is check any bids you placed on the auction house. Because that can sometimes cause issues with character transfer. After finishing some quests, you will receive the rewards in the mail within 24 hours. So, you need to be sure that you have no pending mail that might appear in your mailbox as a reward for completing a quest or from the auction house.
- Character Boost
If you have used a character boost recently and are not able to transfer the character it is because Blizzard does not allow you to do so. There is a 72-hour timer during which Blizzard does not allow any character transfers. All you can do is wait out this timer and try again and that can fix the issue for you.
- Package Mismatch
If you are trying to transfer characters between accounts then you need to make sure that first both the characters are registered under the same name. Then you also have to check whether or not the account you’re trying to transfer the character to has the same package of the game bought.
If the other account is on just one extension pack while you’re on the complete edition then character transfer might not work for you.
- Recheck All Restrictions
You need to go to the Blizzard website and make sure that your account meets all the requirements to transfer the character. Just look up character transformation information on their website and start reading all the restrictions to make sure none of these issues are interfering with your character transfer.
If you believe that none of the restrictions apply to you but you are still unable to transfer the character then your best option is to contact a GM.
