Steam Link is a great application that can be a great means of entertainment for players regardless of where they are. It is a simple application that can be used with smart devices such as smart TVs, smartphones, and more that are similar. You can play most of the games in your Steam library on your smart devices through Steam Link, which obviously comes in very handy.

While the application itself works pretty well and the games play smoothly most of the time, there are sometimes issues with the audio. Players can’t hear anything at all through Steam Link sometimes. Here’s what said players should do whenever they face this problem to fix it.

How to Fix Steam Link Audio Not Working?

  1. Enable Audio Streaming

In the Steam Link settings, there’s actually a menu of its own that is dedicated to the audio streaming side of things that are related to the application. You need to enable the settings inside of said menu in order to fix the issue. These sometimes turn off on their own or are disabled by default in a few cases. All you have to do is enable audio streaming once again and this issue should be fixed.

Go to the main menu of the Steam Link application. Once you’ve done so, head on over to the option which says streaming. Now use the designated button of whatever controller that you’re using in order to go into the advanced settings of streaming on Steam Link. In these advanced options, there will be an option that will allow you to turn audio streaming on or off. Make sure that this is enabled so that your sound-related issues with Steam Link no longer occur.

  1. Change Default Audio Device

Once audio streaming has been enabled, you have to make sure that you’ve also set the default audio device to the correct option through the PC that you’re using to host Steam Link. The process of doing so is simple, as all you have to do is use the host PC to go into the sound settings. You can do so by using the control panel.

Once you get to the sound settings menu through the host PC, locate an option that will say ‘’playback’’. Now open this option by clicking on it and right-click on a device that isn’t currently active. Upon right-clicking, you’ll be given an option to enable this device. Do so and the audio issues on Steam Link will now be fixed.

  1. Specific Game Issue

It is recommended that you use the Steam Link application to play another game rather than the one that you’re currently playing. If the audio is working fine with another game but not this one, then it’s likely that the issue is with the specific game you were trying to play before. These issues tend to get fixed in updates, so you should just wait until that happens.
