World of Warcraft is created by an American company commonly known as Blizzard. This was originally released back on November 14, 2004. But the game is still popular and is being played by people all over the internet.

You can either choose to help each other, alternatively, you can even compete with each other through the PvP system. There are a bunch of abilities that you can use, out of which one popular one is the Flanking strike.
Recently, WoW players have been reporting that the flanking strike is not working for them. If this happens to you as well, then here are some easy steps that should help you in troubleshooting.
Flanking Strike Not Working In WoW
- Use A Pet
The flanking strike is an attack that requires users to have Hunter as their class. Additionally, you also need to have a pet equipped with your character. Considering this, if you have no pets equipped currently on your character. Then the skill will be grayed out and players will be unable to execute it.
This is why you should first check if a pet is equipped or not. This should fix the problem and you should be able to use flanking strike. If the problem persists then you can also try re-equipping your pet from either the inventory or by entering commands in the chat.
- Reach Level 14
The skills and abilities of your class are unlocked as you level them up. Talking about this, the game does not tell the users what the requirements of certain skills are. The flanking strike is usually unlocked after reaching level 13 or 14.
Although you will still be able to see the skill before you reach this level. But you will notice that it has been grayed out in the UI. By leveling up your character to level 13, the skill will then become colored and can be used without any issues.
- Reload UI
Aside from this, the problem can sometimes be from the UI. The World of Warcraft UI has known to be quite buggy. While the company releases patches frequently to fix most problems with it. You might still run into a few of them. Although, all of these can easily be fixed by refreshing your UI. One way to fix this is by rebooting the game.
Alternatively, you can refresh it by giving a command in the game. Type in ‘/reload ui’ in the game chat. This will refresh your game and any issues relating to the UI will be fixed. This includes the flanking strike not working problem.
