Dragon Ball: Xenoverse is definitely one of the most enjoyable anime game experiences that you’ll ever be able to enjoy, especially if you’re a Dragon Ball fan. It throws you inside the world of Dragon Ball and features the same story as the highly popular Dragon Ball Z series, but there is one big twist. Someone is messing with time and making villains even more powerful than they already were, meaning that the Z Fighters don’t stand a chance. That’s why you and your character have to make things right by traveling to said times yourself and taking down these now increasingly powerful foes.
This is enjoyable as it lets fans of the series create their own character and experience how that changes everything in the grand scheme of things. Overall it is an enjoyable experience and any Dragon Ball fan would love to play it. But Dragon Ball isn’t the only super popular anime that’s gotten this kind of treatment. There are games like Xenoverse that are focused on the Naruto franchise as well. If you’re a fan of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden and are looking for a game similar to Xenoverse that’s about Naruto, you’re in luck. We’ve given a list of a few games like these right below.
Naruto Games like Xenoverse
- Naruto: Ultimate Ninja
The Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series is probably the best classic Naruto series of video games that you’ll be able to find. They came out during the time when the original Naruto series had become increasingly popular throughout the whole world, meaning that they’re relatively older than most of the games on this list. The latest and final addition to the mainline Ultimate Ninja series was Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 5, which came out back in 2007.
You’ll find that there’s lots of content to enjoy in these games and they allow players to delve into the world of Naruto. You’ll also interact with all sorts of characters and experience new scenes, much like Xenoverse. These games might not be that appealing to some given that they’re quite old and aren’t the most visually appealing any longer, but Naruto fans are sure to love them.
- Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact
It came out back in 2011, so it isn’t exactly the most recent game of all. But when you take into consideration its release date, it must be said that Ultimate Ninja Impact is certainly an impressive game. It follows the journey of not only Naruto but also lots of the other characters in the series as well.
This obviously includes missions for highly popular characters Sasuke, Sakura, Hinata, Kakashi, Rock Lee, etc. but it also includes a few missions for the antagonists other than Sasuke. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact is a lot like the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja games, but the combat is much more similar to Xenoverse. There are open fields and you can fight lots more enemies at a time, and there’s a lot more story to uncover in a single game as well.
- Jump Force
While Jump Force isn’t entirely a game about Naruto or Naruto Shippuden, it still features Naruto and lots of other popular characters from the series as main characters that are also playable. Jump Force takes characters from all of the most popular shonen anime and puts them all together. This obviously includes lots of characters from Naruto as well, since it is undoubtedly one of the most popular anime ever, let alone shonen anime.
Jump Force features many Naruto characters and lets you see how they’d interact with characters from all sorts of other shonen anime out there. This even includes characters from Dragon Ball too. Jump Force and Xenoverse follow a lot of the same concepts and have lots of the same mechanics, especially when it comes down to the single-player. As mentioned, it may not directly be a Naruto game specifically, but it still features many characters from the series and is a lot like Xenoverse. If you’re a fan of Naruto and shonen anime in general and wish to enjoy an experience similar to Xenoverse, this is one of the best options.
- Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm
The follow-up to the classic Ultimate Ninja series of Naruto games was of course the great Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series. These drew a lot of inspiration from the originals and looked to provide a similar experience, but much more modernized. The Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series covers all of the Naruto Shippuden storylines from start to finish. It also features lots of extra dialogue and scenes between characters that were never seen in the show.
It is a lot like Xenoverse gameplay-wise. While you don’t get to create your own character and see their effect on the story, you do get to experience the amazing Naruto Shippuden saga all over with lots of extra content.
- Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker
This Naruto game is by far the most similar experience to Xenoverse that you’ll find. That’s because it follows all of the same concepts with only a few minor tweaks. The game allows you to create your own shinobi, just like Xenoverse allows you to create your own character. This shinobi is then thrown into the world of Naruto and gets to meet many great characters from the series and become an integral part of the story. This is yet another similarity, and probably the most important one.
That’s because people like Xenoverse as it allows you to see the effects that your own character has on the main story of the series. Shinobi Striker does this as well but replaces Dragon Ball with Naruto. The combat is also very similar to Xenoverse, and all in all, it’s one of the closest Naruto game experiences to Xenoverse currently out there. It is definitely recommended that you give this a shot if you’re looking for Naruto games similar to Xenoverse.
