The Helmet is a vital piece of armor for players in the game, providing defense and protection to the head from damage and targeted attacks. Depending on the type of material used for the helmet you craft, multiple defense points are added to armor stats.
There are seven types of the helmet in the game: Leather cap, Iron helmet, Gold helmet, Chainmail helmet, Diamond helmet, Netherite helmet, and the famous Turtle shell. You can craft the respective helmets by using the required materials in the crafting table or upgrading the helmet with better material.
Helmet Enchantments in Overwatch
Helmets can also be enchanted, strengthening them and adding powerful status effects that can be used in a number of situations. Using acquired enchanted books and the Anvil, players can enchant helmet with helpful effects like Aqua Affinity (which provides additional underwater breathing time) or Fire Protection (which helps protect against fire damage and fire elemental attacks). Following is a list of all enchantments that can be placed upon helmet armor:
- Fire Protection
- Projectile Protection
- Blast Protection
- Protection (an all-rounder enchantment that protects from plain, fire, projectile and blast)
- Unbreaking
- Respiration
- Aqua Affinity
- Thorns
- Curse of Binding
- Curse of Vanishing
- Mending
Provided you have the required levels and enchantment books available, you can readily enchant your helmet with any desired effect. Note that a better-quality helmet will have a higher enchant ability and result in a more powerful piece of armor. Enchanted helmets in Minecraft can also be repaired without losing their enchantments by using the Anvil and the material with which the helmet is made of.
You can even combine two or more enchanted armor pieces and get an even stronger piece of equipment with added durability and defense. So be wise in how you would like to enchant your helmet and be wary of keeping your equipment durable and ready at all times.
