With all of the new content, Epic keeps adding to Fortnite and constant new events, it’s no surprise that the game is still alive and famous. It’s managed to maintain a huge chunk of its player base since launch and new players join in on the fun regularly. But, a lot of these new players and old ones alike might have to face certain issues while running the game on PC. One such issue is the Fortnite Launch Error which says “Access Is Denied”. Today, we’ll be sharing some suggestions for dealing with it.
Fortnite Launch Error “Access Is Denied”
1. Click “OK” And Retry
Something very simple which worked for lots of people is simply trying again after closing the error message. It’s pretty simple and anti-climactic for sure. But, it works most of the time, so we’re not complaining!
When you face this error message, the prompt should give you the option to click on a button that says “OK”. Once you click on this, launch Fortnite again after a brief moment. You’ll likely be able to get into the game by doing this alone.
No one knows for sure why this happens so randomly. However, a good reason could be anti-cheat falsely identifying a background process as a threat and then finding it safe the next time around. If you weren’t among the lucky few who this worked for, try out the other solutions given below. Speaking of anti-cheat, let’s move on with the list and go to the next part.
2. End All Lighting Software Tasks
A common issue with Fortnite, or Easy Anti-Cheat, is that it constantly identifies RGB lighting software as a threat. This includes software from all kinds of brands, including Asus, Logitech, Razer, and more. To get past this error message and play Fortnite, you’ll have to open the Task Manager on Windows and locate the software.
Once that’s done, just right-click on the particular background process and end it. Now go back to the desktop after closing Task Manager and relaunch Fortnite. You should be able to get into the game without further issues once there’s nothing else for EAC to identify as a threat.
Unfortunately, there’s usually no other way around this issue. If you’ve got an RGB setup, you’ll have to sacrifice a few features for a while when playing Fortnite. On the bright side, you can turn the software back on again the second you’re done playing the game. That means you don’t have to lose all the cool features on your setup for long and can enjoy them with all other games.
3. Visit The Epic Games Store Website
An annoying issue with Fortnite and some other free-to-play games on PC is that you might not be able to claim them through the Epic Games Store launcher. Instead, sometimes you’ll have to go to the store’s website to add the game to your account.
Without it being in your library, you won’t have “permission” to play a game. If you’re new to Fortnite and this error popped up on your first time launching the title, it’s more than likely that this is the reason why. The solution is simple enough. All you have to do is open the Epic Games Store through a browser and then add Fortnite to your account through the game’s product page there. Once that’s done, launch it, and it should work without any further issues.
4. You’ve Been Banned
Last but certainly not least, the last and worst reason for this happening could be that your account has been banned from Fortnite. EAC might’ve identified you as a cheater and has placed a permanent ban on your account, resulting in this error message.
The only way to get past this is to file a complaint to Epic if you have no history of cheating or exploiting in the game whatsoever. If that holds no fruit for you, then the last remaining option is to create a new Epic account and play Fortnite on your PC through that.
