🤖 Cyberpunk Character Planner
Plan attributes, perk points, cyberware capacity, armor, mitigation, relic points, stamina, recoil control, quickhacks, and level cap pacing.
| Value | Meaning | Best use | Plan note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Starter floor | Ignored tree | Leave only if unused |
| 9 | Support tier | Utility perks | Good hybrid stop |
| 15 | Major branch | Core identity | Unlocks strong perks |
| 20 | Capstone tier | Main tree | Plan around this first |
The planner scores 15 and 20 as major breakpoints because many builds depend on high-tier perks.
| Capacity | Chrome style | Pressure | Typical need |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80-150 | Light chrome | Low | Starter OS and basics |
| 150-230 | Focused chrome | Medium | One core engine |
| 230-320 | Heavy chrome | High | Armor, OS, limbs |
| 320+ | Edgerunner chrome | Very high | Needs Tech support |
Capacity varies by level, shards, perks, and cyberware choices. Treat the result as a build pressure indicator.

Relic points are only scored when Phantom Liberty mode is selected.
To build a character in Cyberpunk, you need to decide what types of problems you want to solve. Cyberpunk presents player with many type of challenges that they must overcome in there journey. Creating a plan for your character will prevent you from making choice that counter the other choices you make for your character.
The five core attribute for characters in Cyberpunk 2077 are the primary source of tension for building your character. You can increase your attribute points for one or two attributes to show your preference for your playstyle. If you increase the attribute points for all five of your attributes, you will be mediocre at all skills and attributes for your character.
How to Build a Cyberpunk 2077 Character
The best builds will use one attribute as your primary attribute and another as a secondary attribute for damage or survival skill. The other three attributes will be at support levels so that you can unlock perks without using up all of your attribute points. The reason for this split in your attribute points is because many perks at higher level require attribute points of 15 or 20, and you have a limited number of attribute points that you can allocate in your level.
You can earn perk points over time for your character, but you can also save some of these perk points for later use. If you use up all of your earned perk points right away, you might not have the option to choose some of the better perks for your character. You should save some perk points in case you encounter a new weapon or an operating system that you would like to upgrade.
The number of perk points that you save up is a decision on your part and will depend on your target level for your character. Cyberware capacity is a factor in every decision that you make in Cyberpunk 2077. Your chrome 4 costs attribute points, and your chrome 4 costs in-game resource.
Some of the best chrome 4 piece work with specific operating system. For example, a Sandevistan build requires cyberware capacity for the Sandevistan as well as the limbs and optics for the character. Builds that use a cyberdeck require cyberware capacity for the cyberdeck as well as any RAM or defensive cyberware.
If your cyberware capacity is too low for your preference for chrome 4, you will have to skip some quality of life chrome 4 upgrades, which will make it harder for you to stay alive in the game between fights. Your defense layer use two different system at the same time. Your raw armor will reduce the amount of damage that hits you, but your mitigation chance and strength will also reduce the amount of damage that you will take from the enemies in the game.
You can build your character to have high raw armor and high mitigation, or you can focus your effort on creating burst armor so that you can take fewer hit from enemies. The pressure setting in the planning tool tells you how much armor and how much mitigation you need for your character. A relaxed story run will allow for lower mitigation but difficult combat loop will punish you if you do not have the correct amount of armor and mitigation value.
Weapon choice and operating system choice are two of the most important choice you will make in your character building process. Quickhack build require the Intelligence attribute and a cyberdeck that can support long chain of quickhacks. Blade and rifle build require the Reflexes attribute and a Sandevistan to support your weapon.
Your characters damage and survivability will suffer if these two choice do not work well together. Relic point are available once you begin the Phantom Liberty expansion and they are only available to provide late game power to your character. Relic points will open up a new branch in the attribute and chrome tree that will allow either your main attribute or your chrome to become more complete.
Relic upgrades will amplify your existing playstyle so they are best use for a build that already has an identity. The calculator will calculate the math for you once you provide specific input for your build. You must provide your current level, your target level, your attribute spread, your capacity target, your armor and mitigation value, your weapon family and your relic investment.
The calculator will show you if you have a sufficient perk budget, a comfortable chrome load and if your defense match the pressure of your combat. You can play with the different value to see how your readiness score can change to help you in making your character build. Many people make the mistake of trying to do everything at once for their character.
Attempting to maximize four attribute, have every iconic weapon and have every piece of defensive chrome will create a character that cost a lot of value but does not function well in combat. Instead, accept that some attribute tree will remain at support level. Your main combat loop should of be obvious to others when they see your first two attribute.
When all the component of your character work together well, your build will function as the character you intend for them to play.
