We have all been in a situation where we simply can’t find where our video game’s exe files are located. Sometimes, we simply forget where we have installed the game. Luckily, even in these cases, we can easily figure out where the game’s files actually are.
Where Is The Fortnite Exe File?
We have seen multiple players asking around for the Fortnite exe file in the internet. They can’t seem to find the exe file, which is why questions like “Where is the Fortnite exe file?” are swarming in Fortnite threads.
If you are also someone who accidentally deleted the shortcut, or just want to find the exe file, but can’t, then no need to worry. Today, we will be using this article to explain why you can’t find the Fortnite exe file, and where it actually should be located. If you just want to learn where the directory is, fast forward to the last section.
Why You Can’t Find Fortnite Exe File?
The main reason why you can’t find the Fortnite exe file is that online games mostly have a specific launcher. These launchers are used to launch the game. In Fortnite’s case, the launcher is the Epic Games launcher. Still, these games may or may not have a desktop shortcut. They do most definitely have an exe file in the installation folder as well.
However, it can be sometimes tricky to find the exe file. This is because they want you to launch the game through the game’s launcher.
But, Then Where Is The Exe File?
It usually depends on where you have installed the game. If you haven’t changed the installation directory and have left it on default, then you should be able to find it fairly easily.
The default location for Fortnite’s exe file is:
C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win64
One thing to note is that your computer has two Program files folder, where the other one is named as Program Files (x86). Both folders are incredibly similar. Just in case, we suggest you check both of these folders.
Also, keep in mind this is actually the default location of the video game’s exe file. Whenever you start downloading the game, it asks whether you want to save the game in the default directory or change it. If you have not changed it, then the location mentioned above should help you find the game.
However, you could have downloaded the game on another disk. If that is the case, then simply open Epic launcher. Look at the properties of the game. You should be able to see in what drive you have installed the game. Follow that location. It should look something like this:
<Disk Drive Letter>:\Epic Games\Fortnite\FortniteGame\Binaries\Win 64
As you can clearly see, most of the locations will be pretty much the same. You will only have to figure out in what drive you have installed the game.
The Bottom Line
