Fixing Smite Game Freezes for A Second:
- Video Drivers
The video drivers are one of the most common causes of crashing or freezing. An outdated driver may cause your machine to crash or freeze because it is not receiving updated information from your hardware. This can happen on any device, but in this case, we are looking at a computer that is running Smite.
- Compatibility with Graphics Card
If you’re running an AMD GPU, try checking your driver version and updating it if needed. If you’re running Nvidia, update your drivers to the latest version. For both of these cases, make sure that you have downloaded graphics card drivers from the manufacturer’s website rather than using drivers from Windows Update or other software providers.
- Out of Memory Issues
The first thing to check is your device’s storage space. If you’re running out of memory on your phone, then it might cause Smite to freeze when trying to load up new data. To fix this, you can clear up some space by uninstalling apps and deleting files or photos that you no longer need. You can also move your data from an external hard drive to your internal storage. Once you’ve done these steps, smite should run smoothly again.
- Windows 10 Issues
The freezing issue you are experiencing is most likely caused by your graphics card settings. The first thing to try is to right-click on your desktop and go to Nvidia Control Panel, or AMD Catalyst Control Center, depending on which graphics card you have. Click on Manage 3D settings and then click on Global Settings. Change your Power Management Mode from Adaptive (default) to Max Performance. Next, make sure that Vsync is disabled in this area of the same menu and in your video card driver’s control panel. You can also set Triple Buffering to on if it is not already there. If you still experience lag after these changes, you should contact your computer manufacturer for further assistance.
- Anti-Virus Software
If your anti-virus software is outdated or detects smite as a virus, that may cause your computer to freeze. Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and not catching smite as a virus. If you suspect an issue with your anti-virus software, contact tech support from the company.
- Power Settings, Voltage, Etc.
The first thing to do is to check your power settings and make sure that it’s set to high performance. If you have no luck with that, there may be something wrong with your graphics card. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver. If none of those solutions work, there may be an issue with your cpu or motherboard.
