In this guide, we’ll discuss three ways to troubleshoot when you’re not getting Sea of Thieves invites so you can get back to your swashbuckling adventures!
Why You’re Not Getting Invites On Sea Of Thieves
- Check Your Game Settings
One of the most common issues that can prevent you from receiving Sea of Thieves invites is incorrect game settings. Here’s how to make sure your game settings are properly configured:
- Launch Sea of Thieves and select the “Options” tab.
- Make sure your “Game Invites” are set to “Friends” or “Everyone.”
- Verify that your “Voice Chat” is enabled, this will allow others to invite you to their crew.
- Check the “Crossplay Settings” and make sure that “Online Play” is turned on and your “Matchmaking Preference” is set to “Open.”
- Lastly, check the “Friends & Crew” menu and make sure that you have allowed friends to join your crew.
After verifying that your game settings are correct, you can now move on to the next step in troubleshooting why you’re not getting Sea of Thieves invites.
- Check Your Privacy Settings
If you’re not receiving invites for Sea of Thieves, the first step is to check your privacy settings. Your profile may be set to block incoming invites, preventing them from ever reaching you.
To check your privacy settings, go to the Xbox One dashboard, then select the Settings tab. From there, select Account > Privacy & Online Safety.
Next, select View Details & Customize and select Communications & Multiplayer. Here, make sure the Accept Invites option is turned on. If it isn’t, simply toggle it to On.
This should allow you to receive invites from other players. If you’re still having trouble, the person sending you an invite may have blocked you or vice versa.
To check if this is the case, head over to the Friends tab on the Xbox One dashboard and select My Friends.
Then, check to see if the player is listed as a friend in your list. If not, try sending them an invite yourself to ensure that everything is working properly.
- Check YOUR Xbox Live ACCOUNT
If you’re not getting Sea of Thieves invites, it’s important to make sure that your Xbox Live account is in working order.
First, make sure that your Xbox Live account is properly set up. You can do this by going to the Xbox Home screen and selecting ‘My Profile’. Here, you should be able to see if your account is in good standing.
You can also check your Xbox Live account by visiting the ‘Settings’ tab. Here, you can check your Xbox Live status, as well as make sure that your payment methods are properly configured.
Finally, make sure that your Xbox Live Gold subscription is up to date. If you don’t have an active Gold subscription, then you won’t be able to get Sea of Thieves invites.
You can check your Gold status by going to ‘My Games & Apps’ and then selecting ‘Manage Subscriptions’.
