Pick the hero you actually field in rallies, arena, Desert Storm, and Alliance Duel before spending the reserve.

Tip: When shortfall is high, lower the target level by 5-10 or move manuals from a bridge hero into your main carry before the event window closes.

In Last War, leveling up heroes gets tricky. Experience points scale heavily as you get into higher level. You’ll pull a new unit, throw in some manuals, and watch them bump up their level fast. Then it slows down. At level 80 or 90, things starts getting serious again. Your common books runs out quickly and the XP needed goes way up.

It’s at this stage when many players attempt to even everything out by spreading resources over five hero. This doesn’t work. No one hero will develop sufficient stats to take on opponents in combat. The primary carry stays stuck at mediocre stats. A leveling hero isn’t about evenness. It’s about focus.

How to Use the Hero XP Calculator

How much do I have now? What will I need to hit the next level? Can I fill the gap using what’s in my inventory before the next rivalries reset / server event? Here’s where the tool on this page comes into play. Enter your current level, your target level, and all of your manualy acquired books to see amount of raw XP required. The next column (surplus or shortfall), is far more illuminating. It tells you whether your existing resource base will support your plans.

If you find yourself staring at a signficant shortfall, don’t freak out and start purchasing gold. First enter your daily sources of income in the box provided. Most players underestimates how much XP they can grind from campaign stages, radar tasks, and alliance activities over a week. Enter these daily contributions, then add them to your manual totals. That should of change things a lot.

Secondly, many people forget about the reserve button. With this feature, you can set aside some of your manuals as reserves. This gives you the option to play strategicly. Today, maybe you want to burn all your books on one hero. But then what? What happens if someone attacks your alliance? What if you need to deploy a certain tank or boost? Reserving ten percent gives you an insurance policy. That way even if you choose to run two squad or something changes in the meta, you won’t be caught with your pants down.

The reference tables also break down the XP curve by level bands. Level 1-40 isn’t very challenging. Level 120-150 is out there. Knowing where your hero falls on the curve help guide your book strategy. High-level basics don’t do much good. Save those for cleaning up in the early game. For example, manuals act as ammunition. You wouldn’t fire a tank shell at a pistol target. Likewise, you shouldn’t use green or blue books on a level one hundred hero. That’s wasteful, it takes up inventory space with little gain. Now if you’re pushing a main carry such as Tesla or Kimberly, then you’ll want top and legend manuals to realy start seeing any progress.

Once you input the rarity and type of hero into the calculator, it spits out the math for you: is it worth waiting until they reach level ninety five? Or should I just keep pushing them toward level ninety? The strategy comparison section shows various strategies such as frontline catch up vs. Carry rush. In a frontline catch up, you spread XP to support and tank heroes so they can stay alive. It’s safe but takes time for the offense to kick in. In a carry rush, you concentrate all your resources on a single damage dealer to maximize burst. It’s risky as that hero can be countered and your team will fall apart. You should choose depending on what stage of the server you are on.

In early game, it’s about speed and raw stats. In late game, it’s about having a balanced team and specific counters. Resource management means knowing when to hold them and when to fold them. You might want to see those level numbers climb. Just don’t spend like there’s no tomorrow because if you do, well, that’s going to be a problem down the road.

Get out your calculator and run the numbers. Big deficit? Drop your goal five levels and putter along on dailies until then. Surplus? Save something back for next month’s event bonus (or new pull). The math doesn’t give a rat’s ass how much you like that new hero. It just wants to see digits you’ll be able to generate. Have a plan, save something for rainy days, and stretch your priorities a step at a time instead of trying to do everything in one day.
