Far Cry 6 was released in October 2021 with an impressive rating of 4.5/5. It’s a first-person shooting action game with brilliant graphics. Recently, a few users have been struggling with attaining full-screen access. It can’t be said with surety where the issue is stemming from. However, it can easily be fixed. Continue reading if you’re also struggling with the same problem and follow all the steps mentioned below.
Fixing Far Cry 6 Not Full Screen:
- Adjust the Image to the Screen Ratio
Adjusting the Image to screen ratio helps attain a clear screen. At times, despite having an adequate in-game resolution, a full screen is still not displayed. A lot of the screen seems to get cropped from the corners giving an incomplete look.
One of the reasons why you’re facing this issue could be incorrect settings. Make sure you haven’t accidentally activated the Overscan settings. When is PC is viewed in overscan, the screen is magnified with the corners forced out of the frame. It is recommended to permanently disable the overscan option from the Aspect Ratio settings to avoid any display in convincing.
- Try editing the GamerProfile.xml File.
The GamerProfile.xml file can be edited easily. Go to Documents, from there select My Games, and from there, choose the Far Cry 6 folder. Open the folder and go through the video game settings. The settings will give access to all details. Ensure that the resolution width and height are in coherence with the system you’re running.
There’s very little you can do if the game settings are incompatible with your PC. To avoid an issue of this sort, always follow the basic requirements set by the game before running it on your PC. Attributes like resolution may seem very minute to many users; however, they play a significant role in screen graphics.
- Change Desktop Resolution
Many users have reported that changing the desktop resolutions fixes the issue. You should keep the resolution at 1280 x 960 resolution power. Specifically, keeping the resolution at 1280 x 960 is not a compulsion; at times, simply increasing or decreasing the resolution helps fit the entire screen.
After you’ve reset the resolution settings, it is preferable that you uninstall the game and then reinstall it. Once you open the game again, an option will appear on the screen, allowing you to choose between an entire screen or a borderless screen. Select a borderless screen, and the issue will resolve. You can also go back to your initial resolution settings; otherwise, the newly set resolution would also work well. The reset in resolution is expected to solve the issue you’re facing.
- Update Display Driver
An outdated display driver tends to mess up the resolutions. Ensure you’re using an updated display driver that goes well with the game you’re playing. At times outdated display drivers do seem to work, but only if they’re compatible with the game you’re playing. In this situation, if nothing else seems to work for you, consider updating your display driver.
