Stamina is another vital statistic for tank because stamina contribute to the health of the tank. Stamina converts into health, and the health of the tank is what keeps the tank alive during combat. The amount of health a tank receives from stamina will change depending upon which game expansions is being played.
The rules regarding how much health is recieved from stamina change between expansions, meaning that a given amount of stamina will contribute to a different amount of health in different expansions. In order to calculate how much health will be recieved from stamina boosts and debuffs, it is first necessary to understand the order in which the game calculates health. The game calculates health by first using the rules for the current game expansion to convert stamina to health, second by applying any percent modifier to stamina to the current amount of stamina the tank possesses, and finaly by applying any health auras to the total health value of the tank.
How Stamina Turns into Health and How to Use the Calculator
Following any other order will result in the incorrect calculation of how much boost stamina will provide to the tank. Within the calculator, the base health of the character is one of the factors that will influence the health value of the tank. Base health is a value that is assigned to every character at the start of the game, and can lead to tanks with the same amount of stamina having different amounts of health.
Characters of different class has different base health values at level 80, for instance, and those differences grow larger as the players increase the level of their characters. Although stamina boosts will increase the health of a character with higher starting base health values, the relative value of stamina boosts will decrease as the base health of the character increase. In addition to base health, percent modifiers (such as Bear Form or Blessing of Kings) can also boost stamina, and applying health auras can boost the health of the character.
Both of these stats are separate from one another, however. Percent modifiers to stamina boost the amount of stamina before it is converted to health, whereas health auras boost the health value of the tank after the stamina is converted to health. Thus, the two stats has different effect upon a tanks health.
The rules that define how much health is received for each unit of stamina changes from game expansion to game expansion. For instance, in the Classic game expansion, stamina boosts provided 10 health per point of stamina, but in the Legion game expansion, stamina boosts provided 60 health for each point of stamina. Thus, it is necessary to enter the correct game expansion rule within the stamina health calculator.
Many individuals make mistakes when entering the stamina and health aura values, which can lead to inaccuracies in the reported health boost. For instance, players often incorrectly enter stamina boosts into health aura fields, or enter tank stances into the stamina percent fields. These fields are separate from one another in the calculator because the application of these stats occurs at different stages in the calculation of a tanks health.
Therefore, you should enter the values for each stat according to the values of that characters stat sheet. The purpose of the calculator is to allow players to compare two different set of gear or raid members. By entering the difference in stamina between two pieces of gear, the correct game expansion rule, and the health aura of the character, the calculator can report whether the health boost from the gear is worth the boost to stamina that the gear provides.
Thus, the calculator allows for players to determine whether a gear piece is worth the cost of that gear. The same logic that is applied to health boosts based on stamina can be applied to all game version and coefficients. Each game expansion has a different coefficient for stamina boosts to health, but you can enter that coefficient into the calculators manual field.
Therefore, rather than memorizing the coefficients of every patch note released for the game, players can simply adjust this field to the coefficient noted on the players character sheet. While the calculator does not replace the need to view a players character sheet, it does remove the need for players to manually calculate their health boost themselves. Thus, using the calculator provides players with an understanding of how stamina boost the health of a tank, and provides an understanding of which buffs or gear boost are worth using instead of another.
