Not long after getting your new roccat mouse, you may start to notice some problems with the scroll wheel.
Whether it’s sticky or clicky, your scroll wheel might not be as responsive as it used to be. That’s especially problematic if you use your scroll wheel often, whether it’s to navigate through webpages or PC games on Roccat’s Power-Grid software.
Fortunately, there are several solutions you can try before you have to send your mouse back to Roccat’s customer service center or buy a new one!
Roccat Mouse Scroll Wheel Issues:
- Check Your Settings
One of the most common reasons why a mouse scroll wheel might be acting up is due to your settings.
Sometimes, changes in the settings can cause your mouse’s scroll wheel not to work correctly. Try restarting your computer and double-checking that all of your roccat mouse settings are set correctly.
If you’re using roccat gearshift, make sure you’re using the latest version by checking for updates from the product page.
- Update Your Drivers
If the scroll wheel is still not working, it may be time to download new drivers. You can find these on the manufacturer’s website or by searching for a driver update online. Here’s how:
- Download the latest drivers from your mouse maker’s site and install them in Windows Control Panel.
- Restart your computer when prompted and try scrolling again with your mouse.
- If that doesn’t work, restart your computer again and go back into Control Panel to uninstall and then reinstall your mouse driver(s).
- Reboot one more time before trying to use the scroll wheel once more.
- Disable Mouse Acceleration
To disable mouse acceleration, go into your Windows control panel and choose the Mouse tab. From here, scroll down to Pointer Options and click on that option.
Next, uncheck the box next to Enhance Pointer Precision. If you don’t see this option, you’ll need to download the latest driver for your Roccat mouse.
- Calibrate Your Sensors
In order for your mouse wheel to scroll properly, it needs a clean surface. If you’re experiencing any issues with the wheel, there are two ways you can troubleshoot and fix the issue:
cleaning your mouse or calibrating your sensors. Cleaning is an easy way of getting rid of debris that might be causing the issue, such as dust.
To do this, remove the rubber pads from your mouse and use a soft cloth or cotton swab to get rid of any dust in the crevices.
- Replace Mouse Wheel
If your mouse wheel isn’t working after trying all the above solutions, try replacing the mouse wheel. Remember, Roccat mice have a two-button scroll wheel
, and finding replacement parts for this type of mouse can be challenging. Contact Roccat customer service for help with the process and ensure you have your serial number ready.
In order for the sensor to take accurate measurements, it needs as much light as possible.
- Replace Your Mouse
If you find that none of these solutions work for you, then it might be time to replace the mouse altogether. However, we recommend trying out the first two fixes before purchasing a new one!
