💡 Prayer XP Tips
Check the method rule first. DXP, perfect juju, powder of burials, cinder cores, and altars do not all stack the same way. Change one field at a time when comparing methods.
Use GP per XP, not only total GP. A higher-price bone can still be better if it reduces actions, powders, and time enough for your target level.

There’s a certain type of frustration when you figure out that you’ve been training Prayer inefficiently for three hours. You get used to clicking as many bones as your hands allow then you find out later you could of gotten 35% more experience from items using a Gilded altar while still putting in exactly as much physical effort. Most people waste time and gold trying to be as fast as they can, rather than being as efficient as possible with every single click.

After plugging in your target level, current level, and the type of material you’re looking to use into the calculator (shown above), it do the rest of the math for you. You no longer have to guess what is most efficient. For example, you can now see how much money you could save by offering dragon bones on a Gilded altar instead of combining them with powder of burial and burying the results. It also takes into account the current Grand Exchange price for the materials, which, considering how cost efficiency changes day-by-day, is crucial.

How to Choose Your Prayer Training Method

That bone might be super cheap individually, but if you require ten thousand of ‘em and an option isn’t very efficient, your going to feel that wallet burn. The tool will even tell you exactly how many material you’ll need, taking into account your current experience points and how far through that level you are. It accounts for partial levels so you don’t need to estimate where you stand manually.

People make the mistake of looking only at Grand Exchange price per bone, when they should of been looking at the experience multiplier instead. It’s about buying experience, not buying inventory space. Dragonkin bones cost a lot up-front for being such a high XP item, but you will need many fewer interaction to hit level ninety-nine (or higher). This means less fatigue, less chance of banking errors, etc.

The page has a clear reference table that spells out the base values, explaining how each material scales via different methods. But not all methods are created equal, and double XP weekends alter them all. Altar type player owned houses (like the Gilded altar) typically don’t gets boosted by double XP weekends. Which makes burying some bones or spending some cleansing crystals much more tempting on a live weekend than they might have been yesterday. You can toggle it on/off in the calculator to get an idea of just how much the estimates shift due to this state.

For players who train with saved bonus exp points, it will account for those reserves prior to estimating additional materials required. In other words, it assumes your bonus pool is free experience which instant cuts down the number of items required. Alternatively, there’s the whole crystal cleansing thing. Crystal cleansers is great if you’re using Hefin Voice bonuses, or during double XP events, since they give huge chunks of experience all at once. Plug in the cost of the crystal and toggle on any other buffs (such as Perfect Juju Prayer or the First Age outfit) into the calculator. It’ll show you how much time will be shaved off your training routine, those little percentage boosts realy do stack after thousands of uses.

There’s even a way to run simulations with ectofuntus worship, though that means more resource management (meal items or slime). People often go wrong by overlooking opportunity cost. Slow activities has good multipliers, too! Ectofuntus is a great example; multipliers of around four times base experience are common. But if you’re low on time, the wait time may not be worth the experience (especially compared to something faster).

For those who want to make this decision, the calculator factor in time, estimating how long everything should take with your entered action/hour values. This helps determine if time is a concern relative to your goal. Total time is broken down by extra/overall materials so you know exactly what your bank balance will look like upon completion.

So overall, that’s what prayer training comes down to: Time vs Resources. How many hours do you have? How much gold do you have? Where are you currenty at? That will determine which method makes the most sense for you. If you’re rich but lacking time, then high multiplier/XP items is good for you. If you’ve got lots of time but aren’t grinding out gold as fast, then the cheaper options with lower multipliers may work better than for you.

The tool spits out the numbers. It’s up to you to figure out what fits within your constraints. Don’t just buy the first bone, plan first!
