Fixing Phasmophobia Update Not Working:
- Change Your Firewall Settings
If you’re still unable to access the game, try changing your firewall settings. Press Windows key + R and type ‘services.msc’ in the search bar then press enter.
Scroll down and find ‘Windows Firewall with Advanced Security’. Double-click it and make sure that inbound connections are set to allow connections from anywhere.
Then click OK. You’ll have to reboot for this change to take effect. Once done, close all of your browser windows and launch Steam again. The game should now be accessible again!
- Temporarily Disable Any Security Software
To troubleshoot this issue, we recommend temporarily disabling any security software you may have installed on your system. Please see below for instructions on how to disable the security software.
- Open Windows Defender by clicking the Start button and typing Windows Defender.
- Click Settings at the top left of the window.
- Next, click Real-time protection in the left menu bar. You should now be able to uncheck Enable real-time protection and close Windows Defender without saving changes.
- Next, open Steam (if it’s closed) and try launching Phasmophobia again.
- Uninstall & Re-Install The Game
If your Phasmophobia Steam update is not working, try uninstalling and re-installing the game. Uninstall the current version of the game by right clicking on it in your library.
Then uninstall any other versions if you have them. Make sure none of those games are still running in the background.
Once you’ve deleted all the game files from your computer, reinstall the latest version of Phasmophobia through Steam or directly through their website.
Restart your computer after installing and launch steam. You should see a prompt asking if you want to continue with your old account or start fresh with a new one. Choose continue with my old account.
