Each recipe letter consumes 10 paste from the hopper. The resin shown is the ordered-potion base before two-order, three-order, or digweed multipliers.
| Station | Action | Bonus model | Calculator use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Retort | Concentrate | 2 XP per speed click | Editable average click bonus |
| Alembic | Crystallise | 14 XP timing bonus | Good slow-station estimate |
| Agitator | Homogenise | 14 plus 16 XP timing | Best if timing is consistent |
| Passive | No speedups | 0 station XP | Use lower orders/hour too |
Station selection changes bonus XP per potion. Real time also depends on Herblore level, latency, routing, and how many orders you prepare before depositing.
| Reward | Mox | Aga | Lye |
|---|---|---|---|
| Potion storage | 7,750 | 6,300 | 8,950 |
| Prescription goggles | 8,600 | 7,000 | 9,350 |
| Alchemist's amulet | 6,900 | 5,650 | 7,400 |
| Reagent pouch | 13,800 | 11,200 | 15,100 |
| Chugging barrel | 17,250 | 14,000 | 18,600 |
| All unique non-packs | 61,050 | 52,550 | 70,500 |
Shop costs are resin goals only. Potion packs and Aldarium can be modeled with custom resin target fields.
| Paste | Common herb band | Yield examples | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mox | Low-level herbs | Guam 10, Harralander 20 | Often plentiful but lower XP bases use more Mox. |
| Lye | Mid-level herbs | Ranarr 26, Snapdragon 40 | Lye-heavy orders give stronger XP per potion. |
| Aga | Higher-level herbs | Irit 30, Torstol 44 | Aga sits between Mox and Lye for XP value. |
| All paste | Untradeable output | 10 paste per recipe letter | Do not refine far beyond your plan. |
Refining grants 6 Herblore XP per herb or unfinished potion item. This calculator adds an optional three-item refine XP line per created potion.
| Strategy | Strength | Weakness | Best calculator signal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Complete all three | Captures 40% resin bonus | Consumes all paste types steadily | High resin/hour and stable stock burn |
| Prioritise MAL | Excellent digweed target | Requires 81 Herblore unlock | Best XP per potion and balanced resin |
| Skip single-paste bases | Better points per paste | Lower order completion rhythm | Stock lasts longer in paste card |
| Lye-heavy XP push | Uses ALL or MLL for strong XP | Can starve Lye paste quickly | Lye stock becomes limiting paste |
| Passive processing | Lower attention | Lower XP/hr and resin/hr | Reduce orders/hour and station success |
The comparison is a planning aid. Always override orders per hour with your own timed sample if you are mapping a long Herblore grind.
Your fingers went numb from grinding out anti-venom potions and refining some ranarr cactus for your Herblore skill. Now you’re dealing with a whole new kind of minigame where you’re not just doing the same click over and over but managing inventory. In Mastering Mixology, you are the customer, the supplier, and the manufacturer simultaneousy. This tool will let you know what’s burning through your supplies quickest.
Since most players has been trained by every other skill in the game to value experience per hour, most people approach Mixology with wrong priority. But for this ability, it’s actualy better to accumulate resin over your levels. And thankfully, the calculator have the conversions and coefficients figured out; there’s no need to guess.
How to Use the Mixology Calculator
It might be tempting to rush through paste reserves by making lye-rich concoctions like Megalite liquid or Anti-leech lotion (which offer max XP). However, any XP you burn without placing orders don’t translate into actual resin deposits for your shop items. That’s where it gets tricky. Learn which inputs matter, as each one correspond with something in your real game.
Station percent is really about patience, not skill. You get a bonus if you hit the right spot on the alembic or agitator, but if you miss multiple times, it eats into your effective orders per hour. Set this too high on calculation and you’ll find yourself thinking you’re done sooner then you are.
Another one that flips the equation is Digweed rate; it effectively doubles amount of XP/resin from a given potion. Sounds good, but works out best when used on level 81+ Mixalot potions. Anything else is wasting this precious resource on low-impact results.
Where most plans fail is with the paste management section. Although herbs used to refine Lye, Mox, and Aga pastes are available, they’re not an unlimited stock. Each recipe uses up X amount of units per paste, as explained clearly on reference table. For example, the Anti-leech lotion only takes Lye and Aga, but a Mixalot potion take ten units of all three kinds. Grinding potions that take more Lye than others will deplete your Mox supply, since you can’t deposit a full order if any of them is depleted. The calculator precisely indicates how many potions you’ll be able to produce until a particular paste type runs dry. That way, there’s no awkward moment when you’ve run out of one kind of paste (leaving you with, say, 3K units of the other two), requiring total change of strategy mid-session.
You also get a forty percent resin bonus for depositing multiple order at once, which is a big deal and something I never realized was important before. The bonus doesn’t affect base experience gained, but it will speed up how fast you get rewards like the prescription goggles or Alchemist’s amulet. If your goal is strictly level 99 Herblore, you can ignore it. But if you’re after gear that helps out with other skills, then batching becomes mandatory. Use the tool to toggle the bonus and see how much extra time you add to your grind if you skip it.
But there’s another side effect of that, which is psychological: It’s tempting to think you’re wasting time when you’re just waiting on stations to finish their work. That is why passive processing is even an option. It reduces how much you get done each hour but lets you do other things, AFK, or multitask. The calculator include the ability to reduce number of orders per hour you enter in so that it compensates for that. Do you want to actively click as fast as possible and maximize your output? Or would you rather generate slow-and-steady progress doing something else while you’re at it?
But it shouldn’t stop there: the goal isn’t to have a number on a skill interface. It’s to reach a pile of completed sets, each of which make you more efficient overall. That’s where the calculator comes in; it brings you from the world of vague experience points over to area of hard resin numbers. You’ll figure out how to balance your deposits against your paste use so crafting becomes less of an unpredictable minigame and more of a reliable resource chain. It moves you from guesswork to planning.
