|---|---|---|---|
| Mobility | Hunter dodge and movement comfort | Strafe feel and Hunter duel resets | Low value on Titan or Warlock unless movement is the plan. |
| Resilience | Survival baseline and Titan class ability | Flinch help and barricade uptime | Do not park at 96 to 99 without a patch plan. |
| Recovery | Warlock Rift and reset safety | Duel reset speed | High PvP value, but excessive points can crowd ability stats. |
| Discipline | Grenade utility, control, weaken, scorch, suspend | Area control and opening picks | Great focus stat when fragments reduce class stats. |
| Intellect | Support super timing in raids or GMs | Round-based super race value | Often the first place to trim wasted points. |
| Strength | Melee loops, smoke, bonk, snap, grapple plans | Close-range ability pressure | Needs a real loop, exotic, or fragment to justify high tiers. |
| Exotic Slot | Common Conflict | Calculator Pressure | Planning Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helmet | Siphon, finder, super economy | Medium | Can strain orb generation and Intellect support plans. |
| Gauntlets | Loader, dexterity, kickstart, champion mods | High | Important for grenade or melee engines that need kickstarts. |
| Chest | Resistance and reserves | Medium | Most painful in GMs where resist mods are not optional. |
| Legs | Surges, scavenger, holster, recuperation | High | Damage archetypes need enough room for surge count. |
| Class item | Time Dilation, Reaper, Bomber, Outreach | High | Armor Charge engines often live or die on this slot. |
| No exotic pressure | None selected | Low | Use for theorycrafting legendary armor distributions. |
| Plan | Charge Mods | Surges / Fonts | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lean PvP | 0 to 2 | 0 to 1 surge | Trials and 6v6 where neutral stats matter more than upkeep. |
| Damage Phase | 2 to 4 | 2 to 3 surges | Raid and dungeon damage windows with orb support. |
| Ability Engine | 3 to 5 | 0 to 2 fonts | Grenade, melee, or class ability loops with kickstart value. |
| GM Utility | 3 to 6 | 1 to 2 surges | Survival-first builds that still need orb upkeep and utility mods. |
| Solo Loop | 2 to 5 | 1 to 2 fonts | Self-fed builds using orbs, recuperation, and ability refunds. |
The armor stat in Destiny 2 are important because the armor stats will determine the performance that your character will have during gameplay. You need to choose armor stats that is appropriate for your activities, as well as those that are appropriate for your subclass. If the armor stats that you choose does not match with the armor stats that you need for your subclass or exotic armor, then your armor stats will not help you during gameplay, and your armor stats will limit your options within the game.
Each of the six armor stats are not equally important in all instances. For instance, the Resilience stat is important for PvE games, since it helps to reduce the damage that you take, as well as increase the uptime of the barricade that the Titan subclass create. Recovery stats are important for PvP games, as the recovery stat will dictate how fast you can re-engage with your opponent after taking damage.
How to Pick the Right Armor Stats in Destiny 2
Mobility is beneficial for Hunters, who rely upon dodge loop to avoid damage from they enemies. However, Mobility is potentially a waste stat for Titans and Warlocks. Finally, the stats of Discipline, Strength, and Intellect all relate to how often you can use your abilities; these stats are important only after you have ensured that your other survival stats are covered.
Here, you must decide which stats will be low for your armor. In addition to your standard armor stats, exotic armor create additional complexity for the player. For instance, if you wear exotic helmets, you may not be able to use siphon mods or finder mods.
If you wear exotic gauntlets, you may not be able to use loader mods or kickstart mods. Finally, exotic leg armor may prevent you from using both weapon surge or scavenger mods. Additionally, your class items contain the infrastructure for Armor Charge; choosing an exotic item for your class could force you to make sacrifice with your mods.
The calculator will mathematically determine these options for you once you have entered your armor and your type of gameplay activity. It is possible to overbuild Armor Charge for your character. While many charge mods and surge stats can appear to be strong stats for your power level, each mod that you add takes energy that could be given to other stats, such as a loader mod, resistance mod, or orb generator mod.
For some games, having three or four charge mods will be rewarded; others will punish you for having so many charge mod. By playing with the calculator, you can see the difference between the two setups for your armor. Wasted armor stats are a problem for many players, and one that is often recognized too late.
A Resilience stat of 96 is a wasted stat if 100 was the maximum possible for that armor slot; the difference of four point could of been used for another stat. Furthermore, an Intellect stat of 34 may be a wasted stat if you have already built up to the necessary tier for super uptime. The calculator recognizes these statistics for you so that you can determine if there is an adjustment to be made to your armor and masterwork stat distributions.
The priority sliders for Resilience, Recovery, and Mobility are included because some type of activities will require others over the others. For instance, Grandmaster modes will require you to have a high Resilience stat. However, Trials of Osiris will require high Recovery stats.
You can weight these statistics by the calculator, so that you can see if your stat distributions are appropriate for your desired role. Many players makes mistakes with their stat distributions. For instance, many may increase their Discipline stat to 100 to gain better use of their grenades, but then find that they dont have any space for resistance armor mods.
Additionally, increasing Mobility on a Warlock to take advantage of an exotic armor item may result in the class ability not providing enough improvement to the characters mobility to justify such an increased stat. To avoid these mistakes, you should use the calculator to determine the difference in your score before and after you make such an adjustment to your armor stats. This calculator will save you from having to guess the impacts of your exotic armor choices; always compare your stat distributions to your desired ability loop.
