- Dev Build

Install this and try to launch it rather than the actual ARMA 3.exe file.
Once the dev build launches up properly and all the loading is done, there’s not much more to do with this specific program, at least not anything completely necessary in terms of the solution. Surprisingly, only booting up the dev build is enough to solve this application error.

Once this is open, navigate to the following location: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\arma3.exe]. There will be a profile here with the name “largepagefile”. Make sure that the value of this profile is set to 0 rather than 1, as this will deactivate it and allow ARMA 3 to run without any problems from here on.
- Change Steam Launch Options
Steam provides players with the option to change every little thing about the way they launch a game, including the profiles provided to the system during launch. In some cases, adding a specific profile can be more than enough to solve application errors such as these ones that occur during launch with games like ARMA 3.
Go into Steam and locate the game in your library. From here, choose the settings menu to change launch options for the specific title. Within these launch options, just add the following command: -malloc=system.
