|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mage or Paladin caster | 450-900 | 140-260 | 80-220 | Values power and intensity, but needs enough defense to cast safely. |
| Conjurer weapon hybrid | 400-850 | 130-240 | 120-300 | Attack speed and agility often matter as much as raw power. |
| Warlord or Knight bruiser | 700-1400 | 90-200 | 60-180 | High defense makes trades safer; output comes from uptime. |
| Berserker rushdown | 350-800 | 130-260 | 180-420 | Mobility and attack speed help convert aggression into pressure. |
| Savant mixed pressure | 450-900 | 110-220 | 100-260 | Balanced spread works better than one extreme stat. |
| Dark Sea explorer | 800-1600 | 70-170 | 80-220 | Defense and warding help survive long routes and unstable hazards. |
Armor in Arcane Odyssey is a critical components for a player because armor impact the movement of the player during fights, the length of time that the player can remain aggressive, and whether or not the players armor build function correctly during periods of pressure. Armor set effectiveness are based upon the interaction of the different statistic of that armor set. Each of these statistics has a role in contributing to the survivability of the player, the application of pressure to the opponent, and the movement of the player during fights.
Each of these statistics must be balanced to ensure that the player is able to perform adequat in each of these categories. Many armor sets provides individual goals for each statistic. For example, some armor sets may value high amounts of power to provide strong damage to the opponent, or other armor sets may provide high values of defense to allow the player to take more damage.
How to Use the Armor Calculator
However, too much power without enough defense will lead to the player dying to a single hit to the player. Too much defense without power will lead to the player being unable to end the fight between the player and the opponent. Therefore, players must determine how much value each statistic should of have in their armor set relative to their role in the fight, and which values of each statistic work best in combination with one another.
The calculator help players to understand how their armor will perform, based off the visible statistics of their armor set, the pieces of armor that they own, the enchantments on their armor pieces, and the modifiers of the armor. From the calculator, players can determine how much health defense provides, how much power their armor translate into pressure in the fight, and how much insanity that their armor will create. While this calculator does not replace the player’s efforts to test the armor within the game, the armor calculator help to remove the guesswork associated with building an armor set.
Warding and insanity presents a tradeoff for players. While armor modifiers can add strong statistics to armor sets, the same modifiers will also add insanity to the player. If the player does not have enough warding to compensate for the insanity provided by the armor, the player may struggle both in their ability to remain stable in their fights, and in their ability to perform under pressure during those fights.
The armor calculator presents these two values separately for the player, allowing players to decide whether the power or intensity provided by armor is worth the insanity that it will cost the player. Some armor sets contain other armor sets that reward providing full sets of armor, and other armor set contain enchantments that work better with fewer armor sets. The armor calculator takes into account each of these variable, calculating the impact of each type of armor within the calculator to determine if wearing five of the same armor piece will help the player’s role with their armor, or if it will limit their role to only a few type of fights.
Players may make common mistakes when building armor sets. For example, focusing on providing high bursts of damage to the opponent will prevent the player from being able to move or dodge the opponents attacks. Additionally, focusing too much on one type of armor will lead to poor performance, such as having too much tankiness and too little ability to end the fight.
Each of these mistake can be presented to the armor player by the armor calculator, which presents separate value for each of these categories to allow the armor player to understand the armors strengths and weaknesses. The reference tables on the armor calculator provide further information about each of the statistics, and the impact that each will have upon the armor set. Each table explain the role of each statistic, and presents information about other armor sets and the values that they may provide.
These tables will provide an overview of each armor role, which will help the armor player to understand where the armor set sit in comparison to other armor sets. Players can adjust each of the statistics within the armor calculator to see the impact that each change will have upon the armor set. While the armor calculator will determine some of the best armor builds for each role, such builds are not the only possible armor builds.
The armor calculator allows armor players to understand the relationship between the survivability, pressure, and movement statistics for their armor, which can help them to make more informed decisions about which armor to use in their fights.
