Keep breakpoints aligned with your skill plan so gear upgrades do not waste hard points.
When a player reaches level 88 in the game Hell, the player will have to decide how to allocate the players twelve quest points into the skill tree. The player will have to choose between combat skill like Whirlwind and Frenzy and utility skills like War Cries. If the player chooses the wrong skills, the player will have to use a respec to change the skill points that the player has chosen for the skills later on.
Every skill point affects the damage that the player will do, the survivability of the player, and the chance of the player finding loot in a game. A player has to consider the tradeoffs between the different skill categories before placing any points into the skill tree. For instance, combat skills requires a high amount of points for the main attack of the player, as the combat skills determine the damage that the player will deal.
How to Choose Skill Points at Level 88
If a player does not allocate enough skill points to weapon masteries, the player will not do much damage in the game. Skills like Battle Orders and War Cries provides utility and defense for the character. For instance, Battle Orders will increase the life of the player, allowing the player to survive some of the more difficult areas in the game.
War Cries also provide defenses for the player that the players equipment alone cant provide. An effective Barbarian has to have a balance between combat and utility skills. The player uses skills like Whirlwind to clean up large groups of enemies.
For instance, the player should put 20 point into Whirlwind. However, weapon masteries also gives power to Whirlwind. If the player chooses to use two weapons at once to increase the damage done with Whirlwind, the player will have less shield block.
If the player has fewer shield block, the player may want to place more points into utility skills. For example, if the player is using a Singer character setup, the player will want to place much points into War Cries to stun the enemies in Hell. A skill calculator will show the player how to allocate the skill points to the skills in the tree without putting too many points into combat skills if the player needs to rely on War Cries to defeat enemies in the game.
Some equipment will have plus-skills that will change the way the skill tree works. For instance, some equipment with plus-skills will increase the duration of Battle Orders. This will allow the player to run some of the more difficult areas in the game without stopping.
Equipment with plus-skills also benefits the Find Item skill because it will increase the amount of loot that the player finds in the game. Utility skills are also necessary to provide cover for the player’s survivability from the enemies in the game. The game also features presets for the skill trees.
For instance, a player can input the players level, the number of quests the player has completed, and the style of weapon that the player uses into a skill point calculator. Based off this information, the calculator will provide the player with a fit rating to show how well the players skill points compare to other skill trees that is successful in the game. If the player has too many skill points, the calculator will tell the player so that the player does not waste the players respec on leveling up a skill that is not needed by the player.
Many players make the mistake of focusing on a certain skill too soon in the game. For instance, players want to use skills like Double Throw, but to learn Double Throw effectively, the player has to put many points into weapon masteries and Battle Orders. Hardcore players will use Concentrate to provide immunity to the crush damage that the player will take from the enemies.
Other players may even opt to increase the Find Item skill so that they find more unique items in the game. Gear breakpoints depend on the skills that the player choose to level up in the skill tree. A player has to be mindful of how many respecs the player will use.
The player can use respecs from the quests to experiment with different skills. However, the player should of save a respec for when the player reaches a specific piece of equipment. At level 90, the player will have 100 skill points.
When the player completes all the quests, the player will have 110 skill points. Every point is important in the game, so the player has to consider whether 20 points into skills like Battle Orders is the best amount of points for the players life pool and mana costs. A calculator provides mathematical data for how to allocate the skill points.
However, the player can also choose some of the skill points based on the players playstyle. For instance, if a player can use a certain skill to move more easily through the enemy lines, the player can allocate points into that skill. Survivability scores will provide the player with an idea of the amount of damage that the player can take from the enemies.
Tempo will provide the player with an idea of how fast that the player can clean up an area of enemies. The player may also adjust the utility skills based on whether the player encounters resistance walls or begins playing with others in the game. If the player properly allocates skill points to form a tuned skill tree, the player will be able to use skills like Whirlwind to both stun and slash at the enemies without having to adjust the skill tree again.
