You’ve been enjoying the Evil Within, but something just isn’t right. The game has been running smoothly up to now, but suddenly, everything has slowed down tremendously!
Your mouse movements have become laggy and your aiming has slowed to an absolute crawl! Well, don’t worry – we’re here to help!
This guide will show you how to fix your mouse lag problem and get back to surviving the nightmare before it kills you!
The Evil Within Mouse Lag Fix:
- Check Your Mouse Settings
It’s important to check your mouse settings as lag can be caused by a variety of factors. First, make sure that you’re running the latest version of your operating system and that you have all the latest drivers for your mouse and computer.
If you’re using an external mouse, plug it in before checking any other settings. Next, try playing around with some different speeds and sensitivity levels to see if one is more effective than others.
Finally, if none of these work for you and you still notice lag during gameplay, try lowering your graphics settings or upgrading your hardware.
- Check Your In-Game Settings
The first thing to do is check your in-game settings. If you have turned on the Vsync option then that could be the cause of your mouse lag.
Turning this off will fix this issue. Next, make sure you have set the correct sensitivity in-game. If it’s too low or high, then that can also cause lag and needlessly tire out your wrist muscles.
- Try Running the Game in Borderless Windowed Mode
If you’re experiencing mouse lag when playing a game, one of the easiest ways to fix this is by running the game in borderless windowed mode. Here’s how:
- Bring up your taskbar on the right side of your screen and click on the green button that says Start.
- Select Settings from the menu that appears.
- Click on Display from the list of settings and select Change display mode.
- Once you are in the Change display mode menu, select Advanced display settings from the left-hand column and then check off Use desktop size for Fullscreen.
- Next, scroll down until you see Resolution and make sure it has 1920x1080p selected under Resolution.
- Finally, under Multiple displays choose Extend these displays.
- Turn Off Vertical Sync
First, make sure that you have the latest version of DirectX installed. If this doesn’t solve your mouse lag problem, you may need to disable Vertical Synchronization in your graphics options.
A quick and easy way to turn off vertical synchronization is to use a third-party software such as NVIDIA Inspector or RadeonPro. You can also try enabling VSync through the game’s settings menu but not all games support it.
- Turn Down the Resolution
The first step is to turn down the resolution of your game. This will change the graphical quality and make the game more playable for low-end computers.
If this does not solve the problem, try going into your settings and turning off shadows, ambient occlusion and depth of field effects.
Once you have done this, it is recommended that you restart your computer and open up the game again to see if there is any improvement.
