If you’ve been trying to play the game Evil Within on full screen, you may have noticed that there are serious issues with the game, including blurry textures and some images that just don’t appear.
Here are seven steps you can follow to troubleshoot your issue so you can get back to playing the game in full screen as soon as possible.
Fixing The Evil Within Full Screen Fix
- Check Your Aspect Ratio
If the game is not filling your whole screen and you are having trouble playing, it might be because of an aspect ratio issue. To check your aspect ratio:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\TheEvilWithin\system
- Open settings.ini
- Change this line: fullscreen=true
- Change this line: aspectratio=auto
- Save file changes and restart the game, then try launching it in windowed mode by pressing.
Make sure that everything fits properly when in windowed mode before restarting again with these changes.
- Change Your Resolution
- To change your resolution, open your game and go to settings.
- Change the resolution by clicking on full screen mode, then click on one of the resolutions that are listed. (If you don’t see any resolutions listed, make sure you’re in windowed mode and try again)
- After selecting a new resolution, close your game and reopen it.
- If this does not work, go back into settings and try selecting another resolution until it works correctly.
- Turn off V-Sync
- Open NVIDIA Control Panel and select Manage 3D Settings
- Click on Global Settings in the left column then click on Vertical Sync
- Put check mark next to Vertical sync is turned off
- Put check mark next to Apply this setting as an override for all programs.
- Turn Off Motion Blur
- Go to NVIDIA Control Panel and configure it as follows:
- Set ‘Power management mode’ to ‘Prefer maximum performance’.
- Set ‘Anisotropic filtering’ to 16x.
- Set ‘Anti-aliasing quality’ to High Quality.
- Download GeForce Experience and install it (if you haven’t done so already).
- Launch GeForce Experience and go into Preferences -> Display & Light show -> Ambient lighting -> Enable ambient lighting for the selected display -> Checkmark Enable ambient lighting for the selected display
- In The Evil Within game, go into Settings -> Gameplay -> Display Mode and select Full Screen
- Reboot your system
- Change The Game’s Display Mode
