Steam level simply shows how many time, energy or money one spent by using things in Steam. New account of Steam starts at zero. Leveling up opens new benefits and improves the look of your profile page.
The main way to raise Steam level is to create badges. We collect game cards from games and complete whole sets so that the player gets a badge. Each created badge gives 100 XP.
How to Level Up on Steam
Special badges or repeated badges give more than the standard. Some events in Steam also help level up through little games and group tasks. Writing reviews or finishing event searches sometimes brings XP, just like trading cards or badges.
One can get XP through some small ways. Getting gifts from other users adds a bit of XP. Having a certain number of games aslo helps.
Years of activity on the site give a little bonus. Even so really, the simplest way to high level is to spend money or time and create badges.
An important detail is that Steam requires at least five dollars of purchase before any earned XP really counts. Those points get added later, after the spending of those five dollars. Funds from Steam Wallet work well for this, so that credit cards are knot entirely needed.
The best cards for cheap buying are CS2 at five cents each card, so around twenty-five cents for 100 XP. Getting to level 10 needs around five to ten dollars. From zero to 100 stays real and gives nice profile decorations, bigger friends list and more chances for trade offers.
Every ten levels bring a new profile element. Every level raises the friend limit by five.
High level in Steam helps to build trust. It usually shows that the account exists for some time and stays active. Level in the hundreds makes the profile seem more reliable and less likely to be fraud.
Free ways exist to get a little XP, for example maxing out the community badge. Sometimes Valve launches new free badges through polls or simple clicks. The seasonal badge in the Steam Points Store offers another option.
Even so those ways are slow and give only very little XP.
For those who want to quickly raise level, services offer to sell card sets for leveling. One can pay with cards, crypto, CS2 skins or Steam gems. The record level in Steam belongs to a profile called stasik, that passes 6000.
That even so is extreme. Most folks find leveling fun, but after a certain point itseems like wasting money, especially for those that do not spend a lot of time on the site.
