Rainbow six has been plagued with issues since its release, and one of the most common issues has been voice chat not working in rainbow six extraction on PS4 and Xbox One. Voice chat was enabled in the beta, but was disabled before the game was released to the public.
That’s right, there have been bugs in this game that were seen during beta testing that haven’t yet been fixed – imagine that! We’re still waiting on Ubisoft to fix these bugs; however, they’ve given us some workarounds that have helped many people get voice chat working again. Here’s how you can do it too!
Rainbow Six Extraction Voice Chat Not Working
- Close All Other Applications
If you’re trying to use voice chat in Rainbow Six: Extraction and it’s not working, the first thing you should do is close all other applications that might be using your microphone or headset. This includes things like Discord, Skype, or any other VoIP program you might have running. Check your system tray for any red notifications – if there are any programs running that you don’t need, close them out.
- Make Sure Your Microphone And Headset Are Plugged In Properly
Ensure that both your mic and headset are plugged into their respective ports on your computer, especially if they were already plugged in when you started experiencing problems with voice chat. Also, check for green LED lights on the devices to confirm that they’re both powered on.
- Restart Your Game Client
If you’re still having trouble with your voice chat after following the steps above, try restarting your game client. This will often resolve any remaining issues. Make sure to launch from the Rainbow Six: Extraction launcher if it is available.
- Check You’re Connected To The Internet
If you’re playing Rainbow Six Extraction on PC and you’re trying to use voice chat, the first thing you should do is check that you’re actually connected to the internet. If you’re on WiFi, try reconnecting to your router. If you’re on a wired connection, unplug your Ethernet cable from your PC and plug it back in.
Check that your firewall isn’t blocking any game ports. If you have malware protection installed, make sure it has up-to-date definitions for R6S and make sure no other applications are running in the background when launching the game.
- Update Your Drivers
If you’re experiencing issues with your Rainbow Six: Extraction audio, one of the first things you should do is update your sound drivers. Out-of-date drivers can cause all sorts of problems, so it’s important to keep them up to date.
- Enabling Microphone Boost
If you’re still having trouble with your microphone after following the steps above, you may need to enable Microphone Boost. This will amplify your microphone’s signal, making it easier for other players to hear you. First, open up your Sound settings by clicking on the speaker icon in the system tray and going to Sound Settings. Next, click on Recording and go down to Mic Boost. Click on this and drag it all the way up to 100%. Finally, restart Rainbow Six: Extraction and try using voice chat again.
