Krieg is a playable character in the video game Borderlands 2, and the character have three different skill trees associated with him. These three skill trees is Mania, Bloodlust, and Hellborn. Each of these skill trees has up to 26 skill point, and there are a total of 76 skill points that a player can recieve throughout the game.
Within each of the skill trees are capstone skill located at 26 skill points. Players must distribute their skill points to unlock these capstone skills; if they dont effectively distribute their skill points, then the player will likely find Krieg to be unable to survive many of the mode in the game, such as the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. The Mania skill tree provides abilities that increase Krieg’s melee damage and survival.
Krieg skill trees and builds
The most best effectiveness of the Mania skill tree occurs at the unlocking of the Release the Beast capstone skill. In order to allow the Release the Beast skill to be effective, players must also allocate skill points to the Silence the Voices skill and the Numbed Nerves skill. The Silence the Voices skill increases Krieg’s melee damage, while the Numbed Nerves skill increase the damage reduction that the player will need to allow Krieg to survive many of his melee attacks.
The Bloodlust skill tree provide abilities related to the stacking of Krieg’s attacks and his grenades; the Blood Bath skill allows his grenades to refill the number of stack that Krieg has accumulated. The Hellborn skill tree provides abilities related to the damage that Krieg deals with fire element and his capacity to heal. The Delusional Damage skill will heal Krieg if the player maintains the burn damage on the enemies that he fight.
Players can choose to focus on each of these skill trees individually because focusing on one of them will allow the player to reach its capstone skill. For instance, at level 31, players will reach 27 skill points, which is enough to fully complete one of the skill trees. For example, focusing on Mania will provide Krieg with the melee damage that he need, but he will lack the gun damage that Bloodlust could provide.
Along with distributing the player’s skill points into one of the skill trees, the other game elements must match these choice. For example, using a Legendary Sickle will increase melee damage and the number of melee stacks that Krieg accrues; however, if Krieg uses this weapon for a shotgun, then his damage will not benefit from these skill points. Additionally, shields impact Krieg’s play style; for example, using the Rough Rider shield will increase Krieg’s damage output but reduce his protection stats, which could be compensated by utilize skills like Numbed Nerves.
The use of slag will multiply the damage that Krieg deals four times. If the player does not maintain slag on the enemies that they kill, then the damage per second will be significantly reduced. Additionally, the decay rate of the skill stacks that Krieg accumulates should also be kept in mind because they will dissapears if Krieg does not kill the enemies quickly enough.
In the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, the enemies will do more damage to Krieg, and the rate at which the skill stacks will decay will be more faster. Therefore, Krieg will have to kill his enemies at a higher rate to maintain a high number of his Bloodlust skill stacks. If the skill stacks fall below 16, the player will feel that the damage that Bloodlust provide to Krieg will be weak.
Similarly, if the amount of time that Krieg maintains burn damage on his enemies falls below 50%, his healing from the Elemental Empathy skill will be without effect. A hybrid build for Krieg is when the player places their skill points into two different skill trees. For example, if the player reaches level 72 with Krieg, they can place 38 skill points into one of the skill trees and 38 into the other; this will allow the player to unlock the two capstone skill associated with the two chosen trees.
Presets can also be used to build Krieg for the player. For example, there are pre-set builds for melee characters, fire damage, and grenade usage. Each of these pre-set builds includes the type of class mod, shields, and weapons that will work best with the skill points that Krieg can gain.
Builds with a viability score of 80 or higher will be ready for Krieg to face the raid content in the game. However, if a build score is lower than 55, it will be too fragile to use for many challenges. The difficulty level of Borderlands 2 will change the use of Krieg’s skill points.
For instance, the easier modes, such as Normal or True Vault Hunter Mode, will allow the player to use a hybrid build of skill trees for Krieg. However, the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will require that the player focus on the capstone skills within each of the trees. Many of the goals for the game will allow Krieg to reach certain level; for instance, by level 50, he should of created a hybrid build.
By level 61, he should have established a foundation for two different skill trees. Finally, the player should choose a play style that matches the types of fights that they would like to fight with Krieg; his skill points, gear, and play style will all work best together if they are suited to the types of enemies that they will fight in the game.
