God Eater Resurrection, the latest installment in the God Eater series, combines beautiful graphics with fast-paced action and exciting new co-op game modes to create an addicting experience you won’t want to miss.
One of the game’s most interesting features is locking on, which allows you to stay focused on a single enemy or ally during battle.
If you’re having trouble with this technique, or if you just want to learn how to master it, these five tips will help you out.
How to Lock On in God Eater Resurrection?
Tip 1: To lock on and land a hit, you need to press the R button. A little white dot should appear over your target on-screen when you’re locked on. Here’s how:
- Keep your eye on the enemy. Your reticle will move with them automatically, which makes it hard to stay locked on if they’re constantly moving around.
- Lock onto targets that are far away first before locking onto closer ones. If you try to take out enemies one by one, you might get too close and get caught off guard by an attack from behind.
- If there’s more than one enemy near each other, use the left stick or D-Pad to choose who you want to lock on to.
- When fighting fast enemies like goblins or werewolves (or any type of animal), wait for them to jump towards you then dodge their attack by pressing left/right + circle. You’ll have just enough time to unleash a counterattack and finish them off!
- Practice! There’s no way to get better at this game without practicing – so don’t be afraid to go into practice mode and mess up every once in awhile!
Tip 2: Know your enemy moves
- Know when the enemy is about to attack – When an enemy is about to attack, their energy will start rising before they strike. Use this as a warning that they are about to attack and dodge out of the way.
- Keep your distance – This may seem like common sense, but you’ll want to keep some distance between you and any enemies so that you have time to react if they do decide to attack.
- Line up with your target – Once you know what direction the enemy is coming from, position yourself on the opposite side. You can tell where they’re coming from by looking at which way their shoulders are facing or where their weapon’s sheath hangs on their hip.
- Stay still and survey – If you’re unsure of which direction an enemy might come from, try staying completely still for a few seconds while surveying the battlefield.
Tip 3: Change your positioning if necessary
The camera will lock on to the nearest enemy if you’re at a close enough distance. If you don’t have your camera locked on, then it will automatically switch targets when an enemy enters the range of your weapon.
You can hold R1 and press left or right on the directional pad to have your camera lock onto that side of the screen.
If you want to move while locked on, then press R3. You can also use this key for rotating your camera by holding it down and pressing up or down on the directional pad.
Press Triangle to toggle between enemies when there are multiple options available, but be careful not to let go of either of these buttons as this will cause the targeting system to disengage.
