Trading plants in Garden Tower Defense require you to compare the different plant available, considering there rarity, their growth stage, and their demand level. One plant might have a high cost, but if fewer player are selling that specific plant, it might be more valuable than a plant with a lower cost. To avoid guessing the value of a plant from trade post, you need to understand the factor that determine a plant’s value.
The base value of a plant exist as a starting number. Additional factor that impact the value of a plant include the growth stage of that plant. For example, bloomed or ancient plant are generally more valuable than seedling plants.
Compare Plant Values for Trading
Other factor that impact the value of a plant are the plant’s mutation trait. Mutations like golden or perfect can increases the value of a plant above it’s base price. This calculator allows you to account for these different value to determine how much value a plant have without having to manually calculate each plant’s multiplier.
Another factor that will impact the value of a plant is its demand. Demand is not just a measure of how popular of a plant is. Rather, demand is the rate at which players trade a plant live between each other.
Demand can change based off events in the game, balance patch, and the availability of certain plant. A plant with high demand can be difficult to sell if there are many available in circulation. However, a plant with low demand will hold its value if there are few of the plant available.
The calculator ask for the active stock of the plant and how many days has elapsed since the plant become available to calculate its demand value. The next factor to consider is the rarity of the plant. Rarity is a factor that multiply the plant’s value.
Common plants has a low value because there are so many available in circulation. Instead, plants like secret or mythic plants hold higher value because they are less common and available to the player. The value of these rare plant is further justified by the low stock and unavailability of those plant.
The calculator also takes into account rarity to determine the total bloom premium of the plant. Other factor that can increase the value of a plant are synergy and harvest level. However, many player will ignore these factor.
Plants with high synergy with other plant in the garden will have a higher value than plants that do not have synergy. Additionally, a plant with high harvest level will produce more plant over time than a plant with a lower harvest level. Thus, a plant with high harvest level could of commanded a more higher price for its bloom than a plant with low harvest level.
When determining the value of two different plant, take a look at their fair swap delta. If the total offer for the plant is close to the total value of the plant that is being traded, then the trade is balanced. However, if there is a significant difference between the offer and the value of the plant being traded, the trader will need to adjust the trade.
You can adjust the trade by adding more plant, more trait, or more point to the trade offer. The calculator will ask you if you are the person that is offering the plant or the person that is receiving the plant. Depending on your answer, the calculator will provide you with a different price range for the plants that you are trading.
As tempting as it might be to focus on the largest number provide in the calculator, it is important to remember that the trade between player will only be balanced if each player achieve their desired goal. Perhaps one player require the specific synergy from the plant, but another player just want to clear their inventory. While the calculator will provide an estimation of the difference in the value of the plant, player will also need to consider the timing of the trade and the swap that have already occurred between player recently.
Instead of the base value and demand of the plant, edit the value of other factor in the calculator. The base value and demand of the plant can be edited in the case that there are new event or new balance patch that affect the strength of the plant. Updating the base value of the plant and their demand will allow the calculator to calculate the effect that these change have on the bloom value of the plant.
Eventually, you will begin to recognize certain pattern within the game’s market for plant. For instance, plants with low stock and high demand will be more valuable than plants with high rarity. Additionally, a plant with an ancient growth stage or with good mutation trait will help to even out the value difference between two plant.
