Dead by Daylight is a game that relies heavily on the connection between the host and the players. If the host disconnects from the server, it will cause all of the other players to be disconnected as well, meaning that their progress in the game will be lost.
This can be quite frustrating for players, especially if it happens early on in the game. Fortunately, there are ways to avoid being disconnected and even ways to get yourself back into the game quickly if you do get disconnected prematurely. Here’s how to resolve host disconnect issues in Dead by Daylight!
How to Fix Dead By Daylight Host Disconnected?
- Ensure Router Settings Are Correct
If you’re experiencing trouble with your router, the first thing you should do is check and make sure that your network settings are correct.
First, try resetting your router by unplugging it for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and waiting for it to reboot. If this doesn’t work, you can try checking the following:
- Are both of your Wi-Fi networks broadcasting? If not, select one and click Forget.
- Then go back to the other Wi-Fi network and click Connect. Do this for both networks. Next, make sure that the SSID on your network matches the SSID on your device.
- Finally, if you still have issues after these steps, try resetting your modem and router by unplugging them from power for 10 seconds each.
- Reconnect Your Character from The Lobby
- Restart the game by going to your computer’s desktop and closing the Dead Sidekick app.
- Go back into the game and find your character in the lobby again.
- Try reconnecting with a teammate who is still alive.
- If you are on a PC, restart your network connection.
- Exit out of the game completely and then re-enter it (ctrl+alt+delete).
- Restart Internet
The problem might be with your internet provider. Perhaps you need to restart your network equipment. The problem with Dead by Daylight not connecting to the server should now be resolved if you restart your internet connection.
- Get off the computer.
- Turn off your modem and router and disconnect them from the power supply.
- After waiting a little while, reconnect your modem and router to the wall outlet.
- Hold off on reconnecting until the lights on your modem and router return to normal.
- Toggle your computer on.
- Join your computer to the world wide web.
- Check Date And Time On The Computer Are Accurate.
Dead by Daylight won’t work properly if your computer is showing the incorrect time or date. Putting the clock on automatic will prevent this from happening.
- Simply enter “Date & Time Settings” into your computer’s search box and then choose the resulting icon.
- The time and date options menu will pop up right away.
- Set the timer and flip the on switch.
- Select Now to sync.
A computer’s time zone may be adjusted in this manner.
