Each of these attributes of the character determine how the character will perform in combat and during dialogue encounter. The character planner allow you to build your character and ensure that your character build follow the rules of the game.

How to Build a Character in Baldur’s Gate 3
The character planner allows you to ensure that your allocation of your 27-point budget are legal. You may find it easy to allocate to many points to one of the six ability score. Your character score cannot give one of the ability too much advantage over the others.
Each character also has a background and fighting style. Each background provide the character with two skill, which help the character succeed on skill check. Fighting style are available only to characters of certain martial class.
Each fighting style affect the way the character hits there enemies or survives combat encounter. The character planner allows you to view each of these fighting style and background. Certain subclass change the function of each class.
For example, both a Circle of the Moon druid and a Circle of Spores druid use the same druid class, but their different subclass allow them to solve different type of problem. Each character has an armor proficiency and a number of hit dice with which they survives combat encounter. A barbarian has medium armor proficiency with a d12 hit die, meaning they is durable in the middle of fights.
A wizard, in contrast, has no armor proficiency with a d6 hit die, meaning they must be caution on the battlefield. The character planner display each class’s hit dice and armor proficiency. This prevent you from creating a character that cannot survive combat encounter.
Some character can have two class. This is refer to as multiclassing. To multiclass, the character must have at least 13 point in the ability score that is the primary attribute of the class that is being multiclassed.
The character planner make it easy to ensure that your character meet these requirement. For example, some player may want to multiclass a paladin into a warlock or a fighter into a rogue. These multiclassing option will only work if the character’s ability score are correct.
Each level a character reach brings certain benefit. At level four, eight, and twelve, a character gain an ability score improvement. An ability score improvement allow the character to increase two of their ability score by one point or take a feat.
Feats are special ability that change how the character function. The character planner keep track of how many ability score improvement the character has earned by their level. The character planner can assist you in deciding whether you would like to take a feat during your character creation or save it for a later level.
Constitution is the score that determine how many hit point the character has. This score is modified at the first level of the character and every level thereafter. A character with 16 in the Constitution score will have more hit point than a character with 12 in that score.
The character with 16 will be more durable in the face of combat encounter. The character planner calculates this attribute. The character planner allows you to test a variety of build.
For example, you can use it to determine whether a half-orc barbarian can take level in the fighter class. You can also determine whether a wood elf ranger has enough wisdom to adequately cast their spell. This tool remove friction in the build process and allows the player to focus on the identity of their character.
