💡Attribute Planning Tips
Spend for the first breakpoint: The first five points in an attribute usually produce the best return, so broad early investment can outperform a single maxed stat unless your role is very specialized.
Use companions to patch risk: If your party already covers front line, support, or ranged pressure, the calculator rewards pushing harder into the missing player role instead of duplicating the same job.

The Avowed attribute system is an method of assigning points to different statistic. The attribute system determine how the character will interact with the game. The attributes that will be assigned points are those that will determine how much damage the character will do, how much health the character have, and for how long the character will remain in combat with enemy.

The calculator provided will help you assign attribute to your character. You will need to input your level, your background, your race, your focus, your weapon style, your armor load, and your companion pair into the calculator. The calculator will calculate these values for you, but you must understand the attribute and what each attribute does to your character prior to inputting your attributes into the calculator.

How to Use the Attribute Calculator

The attributes of the game are might, constitution, dexterity, perception, intellect, and resolve. Each of these attributes provides benefit to the character. Might will increase the amount of damage that the character does, as well as determine the amount of weight that the character can carry.

Constitution will increase the health of the character and the characters resistance to status effect. Dexterity will reduce the time that it takes for the character to perform attack, spells, or reload weapons. Perception will increase the chance that the character land a critical hit with their attacks and the maximum range of their weapons.

Intellect will determine the essence pool that the character has and their elemental resistance skill. Resolve will determine the stamina of the character as well as the efficiency with which they can use their Second Wind ability; this attribute will also determine whether the character can remain aggressive or whether they must retreat from combat enemies. Each character have bonuses to their attributes based on their background and their race.

The character selects points for their attributes and these bonuses will be added to them. Their backgrounds and races, however, will not replace the points that the character selects for their attributes. For instance, a character with the Vanguard Scout background will receive +1 to their dexterity attribute, as will a character with the Arcane Scholar background and +1 to their intellect attribute.

The bonuses for each race are less important than the bonuses from each characters background, but still additive to their attribute point. A human envoy, for instance, receive bonuses to both the might and resolve attributes. The attribute calculator will show the total attribute for each character after calculating the bonuses from their background and there race.

A characters focus and combat style will impact the importance of each attribute. A combat focus with heavy armor and a two-handed weapon will require more points in the might and resolve attribute. A character with a spell focus that uses a wand and light armor will require more points in the intellect and dexterity attributes.

A stealth combat style will require the character to have a higher point value in the dexterity and perception attribute, but will also require points in the constitution attribute to survive combat with enemies. The attribute calculator will provide these recommendation based off the choices that you make for your character. Each character will have companion that will fill in the gaps for the characters attributes.

Characters that use Kai and Giatta will have bonuses for frontline control and support, which allows them to provide less points to the constitution attribute. Characters that use Marius and Yatzli have bonuses to their ranged damage and spell damage, which allows them to remain safely from enemies while still providing pressure to the enemies. The calculator will calculate a synergy score for each selected companion pair.

A low synergy score indicate that the character and their companions are performing the same task, which is inefficient for the character and their companions. The attribute scaling table will show diminishing returns for each attribute and in which tier these diminishing returns occur. Attributes will provide the highest benefits to the first five points allocated to that attribute.

Points six through ten will provide less benefit to the character but require a more higher cost to allocate those points to the attribute. Points eleven through fifteen are allocated to specialized skill that are only of use to the character after they have purchased and selected the rest of their game attributes. The attribute calculator will suggest that players allocate attribute points to all attribute rather than one specific attribute.

Many players will mistakenly overvalue one attribute over another. They will underfund the attributes that will allow the character to survive encounter in the game. Characters with a focus on dealing damage but with no resolve will eventually run out of stamina to continue combat.

Characters that use spells but have no dexterity will find their spells take too long to land on fast-moving enemy. The attribute calculator will provide these warning before you allocate your points to your character attributes. Additionally, the attribute calculator will warn players of how armor load and difficulty level will impact the characters survival.

The effects of heavy armor in Path of the Damned are different than light armor in exploration mode, for instance. This attribute calculator will warn players of these difference in difficulty to allow them to plan their attributes accordingly. It is essential to plan out the attributes of the character before you begin building your game.

Once players have selected their attribute point, there is no going back in the game. Characters gain the majority of their power between levels 1 and 15. You must plan their attributes within this range of levels.

Planning the attributes will allow the character to grow into the role that you intend for them in-game. The attribute calculator will allow players to envision the role of their character before they select their attribute.
