Plan blueprint batches, station speed, and resource totals before you queue the next craft run.
Pick a recipe to see how the batch, quality tier, and station choice shape the resource pile.
| Family | Yield | Base time | Best station |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter tools | 1 | 1.2m | Hand craft |
| Stone base | 1 | 1.8m | Smithy |
| Saddles | 1 | 2.0m | Smithy |
| Ammo | 100 | 0.8m | Fabricator |
| Metal kits | 1 | 2.4m | Forge |
| Tek parts | 1 | 5.2m | Tek Rep |
Use the family table to spot which jobs are batch-friendly and which ones need a stronger station to stay practical.
| Station | Speed | Queue | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand craft | 1.0x | 1 | Small tools |
| Smithy | 1.35x | 2 | Early gear |
| Fabricator | 2.05x | 4 | Ammo, tech |
| Chem bench | 2.30x | 5 | Chemicals |
| Industrial forge | 2.75x | 6 | Metal bulk |
| Tek replicator | 3.50x | 8 | High end |
Queue size matters almost as much as raw speed when the recipe turns into a long batch run.
| Tier | Cost mult | Time mult | Skill push |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primitive | 1.00x | 1.00x | Low |
| Ramshackle | 1.14x | 1.05x | Small |
| Apprentice | 1.28x | 1.10x | Mid |
| Journeyman | 1.42x | 1.14x | Strong |
| Mastercraft | 1.60x | 1.19x | Heavy |
| Ascendant | 1.84x | 1.25x | Huge |
Blueprint tier pushes both resource pressure and craft time, so high rolls should be matched with a good station.
| Skill | Class | Quality readout | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0-19 | Rough | Low output | Starter craft |
| 20-39 | Solid | Stable | Mid game |
| 40-59 | Sharp | Better rolls | Daily gear |
| 60-79 | Elite | Strong | Advanced batch |
| 80-89 | Prime | Very strong | High tier |
| 90-100 | Ascendant | Top tier | Endgame |
Skill scores help you compare crafters, but the station and tier still decide how fast the batch clears.
ARK is a game where players create a tribe, tame and breed hundreds of species of dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, explore, craft, build and fight to rise in the food chain. Crafting is a big part of the experience and knowing how it works makes everything much more simple
To start crafting items in ARK: Survival Ascended, players first must open the blueprint in the Engram section. You find this section by going to the inventory and clicking the icon to the right of the bag. In ARK: Survival Ascended you know crafting recipes as Engrams.
How to Craft in ARK
Engram Points you get through the inventory on level up to unlock craftable Engrams. At a higher level you receive more Engram points during levellnig up.
To craft items, simply go to the crafting tab in the inventory. Here is a list of items with available recipes and those ready for crafting. Three things are needed to craft a specific item: a suitable Engram, the necessary materials and often a special device for the crafting, for example Cooking Pot or Fabricator.
There are structures where you craft items, like the Steam Forge, that opens at level 94 for 36 Engram Points and can be crafted at a Fabricator using five different resources.
Early in the game the process is simple. Cut trees and gather stones at the coast to craft a pickaxe, mine rocks for flint for a hatchet. Gather fiber from plants, then use thatch, wood and fiber to make thatch foundations, walls, doorframes and doors for a new base.
Also it is possible to craft dishes that give brief buffs or useful effects.
Crafting Skill is an interesting stat. A point in it increases crafting skill by ten percent, which gives 0.5% to the maximum random Crafted Skill Bonus. It lets you craft faster and help to craft items of higher quality from blueprints.
Here matters the difference between an Engram and a blueprint. An Engram you learn from the skill tree and it stays basic. Crafting Skill gives a bonus during crafting from blueprints, moving the chance curve for quality, but bad results can still happen because it depends on chance.
Common strategy is to mind wipe and dump all points in Crafting Skill, then make as many blueprints as possible in bulk and mind wipe again to get back original stats. During batch crafting of multiple items the game counts resources for each at the start of crafting. If resources are lost, the queue cancels.
Now you can recycle, refine or buy missing materials in the same window to finish crafting. The late game became very craft-based, with players producing thousands of kibbles, paste, element and polymer everyday.
