The ranked queue is Apex Legend’s competitive mode where you are encouraged to compete with other players having similar skillsets. Every Season, players grind their way through the different leagues present in this mode. That being said, we have had several users complain about ranked mode not working on their game. According to these players, they get an error stating “Ranked not initialized, Try restarting” whenever they try to play the mode on Apex Legends. 1. Try Queueing Again
The first thing you can do is to have your squad leader try switching to quick play while all the other squadmates are ready to up again. Once all the members have successfully pressed the ready-up button again, ask the squad leader to switch to ranked again.
As weird as this may sound, this seems to be a common bug that appears now and then. However, doing this successfully helps refresh the stats of every player present in the squad after which ranks should be available.
2. Restarting the Game
As explained earlier, the reason why this error pops up is because of a common bug. However, if you weren’t able to get it fixed by refreshing the ranked queue, another thing that you can do is restart the whole game.
Keep in mind that if you are playing in a squad, we recommend asking all of your teammates to have the game restarted. As soon as every player has logged back inside the game, make a new squad with the same members and try queuing for ranked again.
3. Network Issue
If the issue still seems to persist, then there is a good chance that any one of the squadmates might be having a network issue. To figure out who that might be, we recommend dissolving the whole squad. Now, try inviting the players one by one. After each player is invited into the squad, double-check if you can queue the ranked mode.
If the ranked queue gets unavailable after a particular player joins, then the player may be currently having some sort of network problem due to which your whole squad is unable to play the game mode.
