You complete a task. You stand before Mazchna. You’ve got forty-nine points, but you can’t spend them. You need five more for Bigger and Badder. But the numbers feels like a trap. Should you switch masters? You risk resetting your streak or grind out ten more tasks, with little reward.
That’s why I made the calculator up there. I made it to spare you from that. How many points do you have? What are they worth? Do this before you blow another hour.
Why You Need This Calculator
What most players don’t realize is that Slayer points is never awarded at a consistent rate. While it does reward long-term effort, it punishes short-term consistency. For example, your initial four task with any given master will award zero points. That’s counter-intuitive but that’s the way the game works. It wants you to establish a base-line.
Past this point, you need to start planning things out. Fortunately, the calculator do all of the complicated milestone math for you. You don’t have to remember whether you’re better off staying with Nieve or switching over to Duradel… Is his hundredth task worth three hundred and seventy-five points?
Blocking and skipping are two distinct types of tasks. A lot of players view them as equally annoying, but they actualy tax your progress with vastly different amounts of point drain. While skipping does cost thirty points, it’s a tolerable tax on a low priority task. But blocking? One hundred points is a hefty amount of progress towards a slayer helmet.
The tool allows you to model both options side-by-side. Want to block three tasks this week? You’ll know exactly how many more kills you need to make up for it right away. It converts a vague sense of lost time into real number of extra monsters to kill.
That’s where the actual strategy kicks in: streak management. Those bonus milestones (at 10, 50, and 100 tasks) aren’t mere prizes; they’re leverage. If you’re near a fifty-task bonus with an awesome high-tier master such as Duradel or Konar, you probably want to stick around. That extra reward more than makes up for some annoying assignment here and there.
But if you’re stuck grinding away on a low-tier master like Mazchna, you might make better progress by switching, because their bonuses are peanuts. By helping you predict your overall balance across multiple scenarios, the calculator let you consider that trade-off. It takes the emotion out of it and leaves only the math.
The other thing people overlook is timing. Sure you’ve got the points, but do you actualy have the time? With this tool you can plug in how long each of your tasks take on average, and what your kill rate is like. Which is key if you are planning to run these runs during real life events. Knowing your next bonus task is going to be two hours instead than 45 makes all the difference. It prevents you from starting something you know you aren’t going to get through.
To do this, the page has handy reference tables breaking out the specific payouts by master. And these figures include the elite diary boosts. So it’s not up for debate. The game’s code is built in. You can understand where the baseline is and thus form better expectations.
You don’t have to commit all of the table to memory (but knowing, say, Konar will pay more with the Kebos diary gives you an excuse for grinding away). And it converts the grind from chore to a calculated investment.
But this is also what makes Slayer a game. It’s a game of optimization. It’s a game of patience. Every point matter. Every moment is time traded for use.
Do you want to unlock some basic tasks? Or do you want to chase down the Malevolent Masquerade for your slayer helmet? Either way, you have the same goal: to get the most from your bonuses while wasting as little as possible. And you should of always keep pushing forward. To keep making progress.
The calculator doesn’t play the game for you. But it will make sure each hour you spend playing the game works as hard as it can so that you can turn boring grinding into strategic progress.
