Stardew Valley is a game about farm life from 2016, created by Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone. The character inherits a broken farm from his late grandfather and the player takes that role. With old tools and a bit of money, you start a fresh life here.

What is Stardew Valley?
This open RPG about country life supports 1 to 8 players. It well mixes farm simulation with RPG parts. It is not only about farming.
Stardew Valley belongs to “magical realism“. Magic appears in the world, but everything seems real. When the player arrives, the valley is a run-down town, a bit broken.
The farmer comes there because of a hard job at JojaCorp.
In one package you find a farming game, mining, dungeon crawling, dating sim and home decoration. Lore is plenty, and the townies are well designed and genuinely funny to love. It lays the standard for its genre, so it works well by every measure.
After publication, the game soon succeeded, selling millions of copies in some months. It launched a wave of cozy farm sims that domniated the indie game world. Years passed, but it still is the best in this big genre.
Also it became the most highly rated game on Steam nine years after its launch.
Stardew Valley works also on mobile devices, with more than 50 hours of game content and features like auto-save and various control options. It appears on lists of good PS4 multiplayer games and Xbox games for kids. Split screen play is a confirmed feature, with players from 2 to 4 depending on the platform.
The expected 1.6 update added fresh features for all players, also new cooking recipes. The mod community is huge, with famous mods like Stardew Valley Expanded or Ridgeside Valley that add more content. Folks created fan art, memes, videos, mods, theories and guides, there even is a board game of Stardew Valley.
Children under 9 or 10 years maybe find some plans difficult, but almost everyone can enjoyit.
