Trading in Sorcerer Tower Defense require players to compare two different offers to complete a trade. Trading can be difficul in this game due to the fact that the value of a unit can seem different than the actual value of that unit. For instance, one player may look at a unit and consider it valuable due to the high number associate with the unit.
However, another player may know that the unit dont have value due to the fact that no one desire that specific unit. These different perceptions of the value of a unit can lead to bad trade being established between players. These bad trades are create due to the ignoring of the various factors that can impact the value of a unit in the game.
How the Trade Calculator Works
Each of the factors that are to be entered into the calculator impact the trade value of that unit. The change to the rarity of a unit can create an alteration in the value of that unit. The demand for a specific unit in the game change based off stock and the introduction of an new variant of that unit.
The demand input on the calculator include both the base demand for a unit and the current trend in the demand for that unit. These factor are included as a means of allowing the players to understand if the demand for a unit is stable or if the demand is temporary and based upon some current trend. The other factors includes the upgrades of the unit, the traits of the unit, the star of the unit, and the ascension of the unit.
Each of these factor can increase the value of a unit if that unit has a role that players in the game desire. The build multiplier is use to calculate the value of each of these factors. However, the build multiplier does not account for the fact that some unit upgrades are only cosmetic after the early game of the game has been played.
Other factors that can increase or decrease the value of a unit in the game are the stock of that unit and the amount of time that has passed since that unit was last obtainable. For example, a secret unit that is three months old with a low amount of stock have more value than a new secret unit. This factor is include in the calculator as a means of accounting for the scarcity of each unit and the fact that players will not have to manually calculate the value of each unit.
The output of the calculator indicate to each player a single number that is used to compare to the value of a unit that is offer in a trade. Additionally, the calculator provide a value of the fairness of the trade. If the ratio of the value of the two units that are to be traded is near a ratio of one to one, then the trade is consider to be fair.
However, if the ratio is not close to a one to one ratio, the calculator flag the trade as potentially bad. However, it is up to each player to determine if the side of the trade with higher demand or lower stock is worthy of more value than the other side of the trade. While the calculator can help to indicate to each player if a trade is worth pursuing, there are steps that players can take prior to accepting any offers to trade units.
First, the value for each trade can be entered into the calculator. Second, the movement of units in the lobby can be checked to ensure that the demand value for each unit match the movement of that unit in the game. While the calculator can calculate the value for each player, players must also monitor the game lobby to ensure that the number that are entered match the current situation in the game.
