The First Descendant Defense Calculator

🛡 The First Descendant Defense Calculator

Estimate final DEF, HP, shield, attribute resistance, mixed damage reduction, effective pool, and heavy-hit survival for Descendant builds.

Model note: This planner uses level 40 Descendant stat presets, module percentages, external component rolls, and a community-tested square-root mitigation curve for practical build comparison.
📋Descendant Build Presets
Base Stats and Components
Preset loaded: Ajax Colossus Wall uses high DEF, shield, and general damage reduction for boss pressure checks.
Base stats can be overwritten after choosing a profile.
Adds a small practical adjustment for how the selected pool is used.
Level 40 base HP before component and module scaling.
Gley presets use 0 because she cannot have Shield.
Level 40 DEF before external components and modules.
Updates flat HP, Shield, DEF, and resistance fields.
Level 81-100 Max HP sub stat rolls commonly land in the 411 to 914 range per roll.
Shield matters more for Kyle and shield conversion concepts.
A high level DEF main roll can be 5638, 8456, or 11275 depending tier and slot.
Use for temporary DEF Increase effects or manual build screenshots.
🧩Modules and Defensive Effects
Standard Rutile module, capacity rises from 6 to 16.
Use one paired package to compare real defensive module choices.
Only used directly when the second module package is Custom.
HP often moves survival more than late-curve DEF.
Useful for Kyle or shield-focused testing.
Use for Autoimmunity, passives, set effects, or manual mitigation effects.
Modeled as recovery credit after heavy hits, not as boss one-shot prevention.
Included for comparison; it is usually a specialized build choice.
🔥Incoming Damage and Resistance
Sets hit power, physical share, attribute type, and resistance target.
Use a representative boss hit, elite slam, or dangerous tick size.
DEF is applied to this part in the planner.
Attribute resistance is applied to the non-physical part.
Most level 40 Descendants have low base resist before components.
Level 81-100 attribute resistance sub stat range is about 1608 to 3860.
Enter flat resistance from a specific attribute module or manual stat screen.
TFD debuff wording commonly references up to 80% DEF reduction.

💡Practical Defense Tips
HP versus DEF: If your final DEF is already around the 30000 to 50000 range, test a Max HP component or Increased HP level before adding another DEF-only choice.
Resistance targeting: Use the attribute field for the boss that is actually threatening you. A 3860 Fire roll helps Pyromaniac-style checks, but it does nothing for pure non-attribute slams.

In the game The First Descendant, the player must understand how defense, health, shield, and resistance interact in order to ensure that the player doesnt die during the fight. Many player make the mistake of focusing on one of these statistics as being the best way to ensure that the player can survive the fight. However, each of these statistics have the potential to fail for the player when faced with a heavy hit to the player.

Each of these statistics must be understood in order for the player to understand how many combat hit the player can survive during the fight. Defense is provided in a diminishing curve. This means that the more defense a player purchase, the more the system reduces incoming damage.

How Defense, Health, Shields and Resistance Work Together

Most players thinks that defense is teh most important stat, but its actually more complicated than that. If you focuses only on defense, your character might still die because a heavy hit can bypass those numbers. You should of looked at how shields and health works together.

Different than other games, The First Descendant require a balance between all of them. Defense is provided in a diminishing curve. This means that the more defense a player purchase, the
