There are a few reasons to consider why bdo armor decisions is not as straightforward as they may first appear. Each piece of armor can impact multiple hidden system within the game. For example, each piece of armor may seem like a great upgrade for some player, but one piece of armor could impact one player’s damage reduction while also reducing there evasion value from another.
This difference in armor is important to consider in either monster zone or player versus player (PvP) zones. While players may look at their Damage Point (DP) value to determine the level of protection they have for their character, they should also consider what type of damage reduction or evasion their armor will provide their character against an enemies in these zones. Bdo damage reduction and evasion provide similar function but work in different ways.
How to Choose Armor in BDO
Damage reduction will work steadily against all incoming attacks to the player while evasion will work to remove those attacks entirely. While evasion may work well in short fights between players or with monsters with low accuracy values, the advantage of evasion wears thin if used against opponents or monsters with high accuracy or high armor values in the zone. While game players can use available calculators to calculate these values, they can input the stats of their current armor piece as well as their enhancement stage and the zone they are exploring into the calculation to easily determine the outcome of their armor build.
Finally, another reason for armor decisions may be due to the level of the Caphras weapon they use. Each level of Caphras can provide benefits to the same piece of armor but based off whether that armor is a boss weapon or an origin weapon. A few levels of Caphras may be all that is needed to push a player into the next Damage Point (DP) bracket.
Beyond that, players will receive a bonus in their damage reduction that is not reflected within the game. This bonus is why some players may feel that leveling their Caphras weapons is a transformative addition to their armor, but it may also seem invisible on other build. The armor calculator will show players these breakpoints in DP without requiring them to test their setup themselves.
Crystal and artifact choices are another element to consider in armor building. While damage reduction values will only matter in Player versus Environment (PvE) modes, monster damage reduction can be one of the best choices in terms of safety for those who explore the games area with monsters. Resistance and maximum health will also affect survival time after the first layer of damage reduction is applied to players characters.
These can be weighted in a role selector to determine whether players are focusing upon maximizing damage reduction or survival times in large-scale PvP battles. Another commonly underestimated factor in armor decisions is the impact that zone pressure can have upon armor values. For instance, armor that is safe for 280 AP may not be safe in zone with 310 AP.
The armor model allows players to see how far their current build is from their target for that zone. Furthermore, the model can determine if they lack safety due to low damage reduction against monsters, insufficient health stats or lack of total damage reduction that is needed for their role in the game. Mistakes are made in the creation of armor builds due to the focus upon just one value.
For example, players may invest heavily in evasion when playing against a few other player yet find that evasion does not work well against horde battles with high evasion and accuracy values. Similarly, players may invest in as much damage point as possible yet find their damage reduction statistics against monsters are too low for there grinding spot. These mistakes can be caught prior to the player spending their silver on these items through the use of armor calculators.
Although there is no perfect score that can be created within the game, there is a goal for all players to understand what each investment within their armor build will do for their character in the scenarios they face. They can see how one type of armor may increase their evasion percentage while other armors may increase their damage reduction percentage. These insights will allow for better, less random decision for players characters and ensure that their defensive build holds up in the areas where it is needed the most.
