Skill tree in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon allow a player to distribute attribute points to improve their character. These trees are important for the character because they determines how the character will survive combat and how the character can deal damage to the enemies. By spreading skill points too thinly between skill trees, the player may find their character lacking strength in one area of the game that can finish the fight with an enemies.
Therefore, by understanding how each attribute works and how the player wants to develop their character, they can plan their skill tree to provide more even development of their character’s skill. Each attribute provide a different benefit to the character. The attribute of Vigor increases the burst damage that a player can do with melee attacks, but it also drains their stamina quick.
Choose One Main Skill Tree
The attribute of Endurance allows a character to move and dodge from enemies, but if they do not have enough of this attribute, their character will be vulnerability to damage even with perfect dodges. The attribute of Precision increases ranged attacks and critical hit with melee weapons. The attribute of Spirit increases the power of wards used by the character to counter the opponents’ attacks.
The attribute of Cunning provides utility skill and damage-over-time attacks, but it does not offer the same power to the character than the other attributes. By understanding the benefit that each attribute provides, the player should commit to one main skill tree to receive all the benefits from leveling their character to tier 3 in each tree. These tier 3 skill unlocks is important as they increase the characters output.
It is also possible to invest in a second tree for their skills to scale with the characters attribute, but they should invest most of their points into their main tree. Players can develop their characters in a variety of ways with their allocated skill points. Characters that focus on using greatswords, such as an Vanguard, will invest the majority of their skill points into the Warfare tree.
However, they may also invest some of their points into Guile to take advantage of the bleed damage done to the bosses that the character fights. Characters that focus on using longbows, such as the Ranger class, will invest the majority of their points into the Archery tree. However, they may also invest some of their skill points into the Cunning tree to increase the damage-over-time skills that their character can utilize.
Characters in the Occultist class will use the Mystic tree to gain the benefits of Spirit and increase the power of their arc staves. They will also gain the ability to turn the enemies’ magic against them. Assassin characters will invest their skills into the Guile tree to increase the number of critical hits that they land in combat with their daggers.
Players have a variety of weapons and armor in the game that will interact with the attributes that they develop in their character. Characters that use greatswords will gain the benefits of the Vigor attribute, but if they are also wearing heavy plate armor, they will run out of stamina quick. Spears does best with medium mail armor.
If a character uses light leather armor, they can increase the number of times that their character can dodge their enemies attacks; however, if they use heavy plate armor, their character will have more defense but will move less in the game. The character should consider the tempo of the battles that they will enter. If players wish to fight more aggressively, they will want to increase their offense, but they will also use up their resources quick.
For characters that fight more steadily, they will gain more endurance for the length of the fight they encounter. One of the mistake that some players make is investing their skill points very thinly between too many skill trees. For instance, if they invest 18 skill points into their main tree to reach the tier 3 nodes for their main skills, they will have more effective Vigor skill investments.
However, if they invest their skills into too many trees at once, they may not be able to fully develop any of the trees. The skills that a player selects should be matched with the weapon that the player intends to use; for instance, rune axes will work better with the Mystic tree than any other weapon. Additionally, depending on the length of the fight between the player and the enemies, the player may want to invest their skills differently.
For long fights with bosses, the character needs to have high sustain skill. The character can also use their skills for short fights to gain high burst damage. The maps in the game known as Avalon have a significant influence on the type of skill trees that work best for players.
For instance, those using light armor can move quickly in the thickets in the game. Their enemies will not be able to corner them as quickly as with heavy armor. With the increasing cost of changing skill trees, players should experiment with their character skills before fully committing to a character build.
For example, the offense index can help players understand if their character can defeat the patrols quick. The survival window will help the player understand how well the character can endure the fight with the boss. The sustain percentage will tell the player how long the character will have the resources to fight the enemies.
For the best character, a player should of pushed one skill tree to the highest level before placing any skill point into other trees.
