The character build in Borderlands 1 require careful planning before player begin the game. The build that players chooses for their Vault Hunter will determine how they play and how well the Vault Hunter perform during combat. Suppose players selects the wrong skill within the skill trees for the game.
In that case, the Vault Hunter will not have the necessary defense or an offense skills to defeat the enemies that they encounter in the game. For example, if players selects skills that increases the damage output of the Vault Hunter but do not increase the survivability of the Vault Hunter, then the player character will die quick when facing enemies with high damage output. In this situation, players must find a balance between the skill that provide the best survivability and damage output for the Vault Hunter.
How to Make a Good Vault Hunter Build in Borderlands 1
Each Vault Hunter have a unique class that defines the type of gameplay that players should utilize within their game. For example, players should utilize the skill tree for the character Lilith to increase the mobility and elemental damage output of the character. For the character Mordecai, players should utilize the skill trees to increase his critical hit chance and precision in his sniping ability.
Roland has a turret that provide team support for the Vault Hunters, so players should use the skill trees for this character to increase the turrets defensive skill. Lastly, Brick’s skills is focused on melee combat, so players should use the skill trees for this character to increase his health and melee damage output. Each Vault Hunter has a unique class identity, so players must select skill that best match the character class with which the Vault Hunter is equiped.
Lastly, the choice of weapon is another factor that determines the skills for Vault Hunters. For example, players who chooses submachine gun for their Vault Hunter will find that weapons with a high rate of fire works well with skills that apply elemental effect to enemies that are defeated in the game. Sniper rifles may have a low rate of fire, but critical hit damage skill can increase the sniper rifles damage.
Slow reload speed will decrease the damage per second that you deal with your weapon. If you choose a weapon with slow reload speed, your character must include skill that compensate for slow reload speed. Additionally, the type of enemy you are fighting can have different resistance to elemental damage.
Survivability determines how well your character will take damage in gameplay. While health is one component of survivability, survivability also include shield regeneration and damage reduction skill. Character builds with high damage often have low survivability.
If you choose this kind of build, you will die more oftener in combat. To avoid this, your character should of include survivability skill into their game build to help the Vault Hunter survive gameplay encounters. There are skill point you can allocate as your character level up.
You should aim to complete the core passive skill by level 20 or 30. By level 50, you can begin to allocate skill points to the secondary skill. You can fully allocate your characters skill points when they reach level 69.
Although there are preset build for each game class, you should modify these build to match the gear you have collected in your game. By following these suggestion, you can create a character build that is more effective in the gameplay of Borderlands 1.
