Liquid Screen Protector works entirely differently than tempered glass or film replacements. They simply are wiped on the surface of the glass of your device. The main element in many of these products is silicon dioxide, a natural material that is also known as quartz.
When one applies it, something interesting happens: the liquid flows into all those tiny bumps and little pores of your screen, later hardens and indeed strengthens the glass on a chemical level.
Liquid Screen Protectors: Good and Bad
The biggest advantage? They almost do not show after drying. There is no layer on the screen so you must not care about extra thickness.
The layer soaks into all little splits much better than regular protectors ever managed. Applying it is easy. Simply wipe it with a fabric or even finger, leave it to bind with the glass and done.
Flexibility deserves attention also. This protection works for more than only phones. One uses them to protect phones, tablets, glasses, gaming tools, lens of cameras and boards against scratches.
Some brands even claim that one application can protect up to three differnet phones. Even so there is a limit. Liquid Screen Protector well stops scratches, but they do not offer much defense against falls or blows.
For solid protection against falls, tempered glass clearly wins.
There are some real downsides to consider. One important spot is, what happens with the original oil-resistant cover of your phone… That is the factory layer that resists fingerprint marks.
After you applied Liquid Screen Protector, it covers that and results in fingerprint marks everywhere. Removing it is another problem. After applying, removing it is almost impossible without risk of hurting the screen itself.
Here is another reason: the protection does not stay forever. Folks must reapply the layer at least once yearly. Funny enough, some products advertised as lasting run out already after a weak.
When the layer fades, it starts wearing down and fingerprint marks return badly.
You truly can apply Liquid Screen Protector under tempered glass and nothing stops that. They work well together. Actually, the liquid layer can fill already existing scratches on your screen, if you want to avoid costly repair.
It does not make things worse.
Some Liquid Screen Protector products come with limited guarantees for devices, although most of them only last a year. As a cheap way to reach resistance against scratches and clarity of screen without extra thickness, Liquid Screen Protector is a good plan. For real protection against fallseven so, tempered glass stays the safer choice.
