| 21:9 | Ultrawide monitors | ~1.33x | Wider cockpit view |
| 32:9 | Super ultrawide | ~1.78x | Extreme peripheral vision |
📺 TV & Couch Play: At 2–3 m distance, a wider FOV (50°–70°) can actually feel more engaging. Experiment above your calculated value by 5–10°.
🖥️ Triple Screens: Use this calculator for each individual screen. In GT7, set the FOV to match just the center screen angle, not the total span.
⚠️ Too Wide FOV: Objects appear smaller, depth perception suffers. Good for awareness, bad for immersion.
⚠️ Too Narrow FOV: Feels claustrophobic, less peripheral info but objects look larger and closer — some find this more thrilling.
Gran Turismo 7… Or simply GT7, if you like short forms, is a racing game made by Polyphony Digital and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It forms the eighth main entry of the Gran Turismo series and appeared for PS4 and PS5 in 2022.
The most notable part is how it ties all wins of the series through the years where the version for PS5 clearly shines because of its sharp graphics and careful attention to details.
Gran Turismo 7: Great Racing but Hard to Play Offline
The physics of the racing truly impresses. Steering feels natural and fast in response, while the strong vibration of the controller clearly shows what happens… When you slip in a corner or understeer, you feel that.
Wear of tyres is well faked, which matters for planning, and although damages do not always show, they count inwardly and afefct the behavior of your car. Version for PS5 also improves the whole experience by means of nice images and touch vibration, that makes everything more real.
There are a lot of reasons to play this game. It includes tests for licenses, important choices about setups and many tracks with various targets. Sport Mode and multiplayer mode are both available, inspired by Gran Turismo Sport.
There is also the step-by-step system of the Cafe, where you sail menus too unlock content, honestly, it did not change much from the launch of the game. Other parts are the GT World Series, that organizes regular events and delivers updates until 2026.
But here comes the annoying part: it is almost not possible to play without an online connection. Everything except the World Championship locks you out if you are offline. That upsets, but the racing itself makes up for that a lot.
GT7 works as a solid racing game, and to get better at it, you must master the basics.
There is also a free trial called My First Gran Turismo, that lets you experience the racing. Finish all its challenges, and you will get prizes that count in the full game. For more content, there is paid DLC in the store.
The third Special Update added fresh tracks, cars and events, it was shown during the PlayStation State of Play.
The whole list of cars comes with full specs and data, and filtering by legendary models, brands, classes, types or engines is fairly simple. Making paint jobs is truly half of the fun. About setups, reports about tools and suspensions no longer reduce the score, so that you can use comfortable setups withoutdropping your rating.
Can one get this for PC? Not yet. No version on Steam, nothing here.
Games of PlayStation Studios move to PC one after the other, but no promise that everything will follow. If GT7 ever would reach PC, it would open chances for better racing sims, support for tools and mods, because the best racing programs are made for PC and only few brands back PlayStation.
