Note: This article is based on reliable information from community discussions and resources about the MMORPG Tibia.
In Tibia Damage chiefly reduces your hit points. Even so here is the trick… It can also cost mana, if you bear Magic Shield or Energetic Ring to protect you.
How Damage Works in Tibia
Attacks, spells and runes all deliver different kinds of Damage. Understanding exactly how everything works is useful, when you plan what armor to choose, how to defend yourself and what battle strategy to apply.
In the world of Tibia there are seven different types of Damage: fire, ice, energy, ground, death, holy and physical. Physical Damage is usually done by swings with various weapons, although some runes and spells scatter it also. Matching the right Damage type against the right enemy?
That is what turns slow grinding into a task that one can control.
Weapons, axes, clubs, swords… Deliver physical Damage during hitting. Ranged weapons work similarly.
Bows, crossbows, throwing weapons, all physical. Knights and paladins are built around it. Even some spells add physical attack besides their other effects.
When earth Damage hits, green text covers your screen. Druids are the specialists hear, with strong earth spells, although Earth Strike is something that any of the right class can learn. Water creatures really hate energy Damage, and some of them also die from ground.
Funny thing about energy attacks: energy tends to be the most difficult non-physical blow that you receive.
In Tibia, magic works by means of text commands. You have instant spells and rune magic, both spending mana for various results. Some spells constantly attack and cause pain.
Others heal you. Some do their own thing specially. Here is what is great about magicians, they can use Ultimate Healing Runes and beat heavy monsters like cyclops in early game.
Yes, it costs more than a paladin would spend, but magicians have big surplus. They can fly and kite, which helps to escape Damage during hunting. Also, they can summon up to two creatures to back them.
Levels clearly strengthen your Damage output, but exactly counting how much is added is hard. Level and skills work together; strengthening one makes the other more efficient. Each skill point genuinely helps more than the old myth about “three percent” going around.
From my experience, one sees something like one extra Damage point for five levels. Skills are more impactful, around three extra Damage for one skill point. There is also base Damage, a flat number added to your usual output.
Spells include level power in the formula.
A Tibia Damage calculator strips the numbers about what your character can deal or suffer. Problem is that some calculators disappeared online during the years. Dying in Tibia hurts (you lose experience), skills and sometimes items that you wanted to keep.
Fighting genuinely has risks. The tactics that you choose decide everything. Higher players bullyinglower?
That is ongoing pain, especially when one can not respond by means of fight.
