The PlayStation 4 is a home video game console made by Sony Interactive Entertainment. In February 2013 they first announced it as the next model after the PlayStation 3. The launch happened November 15th 2013 in North America while Europe, South America and Australia received it November 29th 2013.
Inside the PS4 runs on a 16-core, 64-bit AMD Jaguar chip together with 8 GB GDDR5 RAM. The graphics unit is based on AMD Radeon. Like the PS3, it carries a Blu-ray disc drive.
About the PlayStation 4
The controller, called DualShock 4, is a big improvement compared to the older version.
The PS4 includes 1 TB hard drive storage. It looks more modern and slimmer than the older versions. There is also the suspend feature, that helps to slow the load tyme of saved games.
Simply press the button of power and go directly back to where you stopped the action. Really practical feature.
The PS4 Pro beats the basic version. It makes better images for high-definition televisions and even for regular 4K stuff, because the Pro version fits 4K. The Pro type offers a more fair cost for those, that do not want to spend more then a thousand dollars only to have games in 4K quality. You can sometimes find a PS4 Pro for about two hundred dollars or even less, which makes it friendly to tight budgets.
Also you can put a big hard drive in it for extra storage of games.
The collection of games is a big strength. Uncharted 4: The End of the Thief leads players through global scenes like tropical islands, big cities and snowy peaks. It ends the series of Nathan Drake, created by Naughty Dog with the extra power of the PS4.
The Last of Us ranks among other loved titles available for the platform. Also plenty of free games exist for PS4, like Warzone, Apex Legends, Genshin Impact and Dauntless.
The PS4 offers fun beyond only video games. You can use it for television, music and extra stuff. Parental limits help for younger players, and online gaming is part of the offer.
The exclusive games of PlayStation stay animportant draw.
You should recall that Steam does not run directly on PS4. The console uses a closed system and only accepts programs made for PlayStation. You can not bring bought PC games from Steam to the PS4.
However the DualShock 4 can connect to a computer and work with Steam by turning on PS4 support in the settings of Steam.
After 2025 nobody expects new games for PS4. Some titles from PS1 to PS3 got ports, although the amount stays fairly limited. Sony does not plan to release new PlayStation 4 consoles.
However the sales of games through PSN keep growing.
