OSRS Leagues are a seasonal game mode in Old School RuneScape. They happen on servers with strict limits including restrictions about areas, skills and faster experience rates. The main idea is start from nothing and finish as many tasks before the time ends.
Leagues belong to OSRS since 2019, when Jagex launched this mode during RuneFest. One described it as fast gameplay with some likenesses to Deadman Mode. Like that, Leagues operate on separate servers outside the main game.
What are OSRS Leagues
Progress here stays entirely separate from the main playing account.
Every League includes different rules, made to face players in different modes. The main target is to get the most points and ranks by doing tasks. More difficult challenges award bigger points.
The length usually reaches around two months. When the League ends, one can use the points to buy decorative objects for the main character. Those objects can be used or sold for a lot of money on the Grand Exchange.
Every member account deserves to take part in Leagues on dedicated worlds. Players usually start in one region of the map and open others while they advance. For instance in the League of Furious Echoes, all players started locked to Misthalin and opened Karamja for free movement during the event.
Three more regions opened after reaching 90, 200 and 400 tasks in the League.
League 5 bears the name Demonic Pacts. It represents the newest version of this liked seasonal mode. As in prior Leagues, it brings separate systems, that differ from the basic game.
Players choose the best strategy for winning, what adds an element of tactics. Here rules big freedom in choices.
One important thing too know is, that Leagues require deep knowledge about the game. The game itself gives only little information to players. Many tasks require deep insight, so one commonly must spend a lot of time searching information on the OSRS Wiki.
Even so that forms only part of the whole experience.
In summary, Leagues are basically OSRS on steroids. They allow you to experience endgame stuff like boss fights without the long farming for levels and gear. Also they allow you to play RuneScape under totally new rules.
Old School RuneScape runs on PC, Steam, iOS and Android with cross-platform progress. There is also a big community Discord server for Leagues, where tens of thousands of members discuss through voice and text.
Leagues 6 entered early production, with more announcements planned forstart of 2026.
