The Nintendo Switch is a video game console that Nintendo created. It appeared around the world March 3rd 2017. The console debuted in the eighth era of home video game devices.
Switch replaced the Wii U and competed directly with the Sony PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One of Microsoft.
Nintendo Switch and Its Models
A main feature of the Switch is its portability. The device can quickly transform from a home console that connects to the television, to a portable device. Like this one can play at home or during travel using only one same setup.
It sits exactly between the world of portable and home gaming devices. The controllers detach and attach to the main body when one needs that.
Switch includes 32 GB of memory. Play on the built-in screen comes in handy, when someone else involves the television. When the television frees up, just simply reconnect teh console to it to enjoy the big image.
This setup gives a lot of flexibility, what makes the whole thing so fun. Especially for families it works well, for instance with games for four folks in split-screen.
The console offers games exclusively, that do not appear on computers by means of official ways. Names like the main Pokémon games, Fire Emblem and Zelda play only on Nintendo devices. The game files of Switch are locked, encrypted and tied to Nintendo account.
Because of that it is not possible to simply move Nintendo Switch games too roll them on Steam or computers.
One can choose between various versions. Between them are the Switch Lite, the usual Switch and the Switch OLED model. The Switch Lite sells at lower prices, while renewed OLED versions appear at stores like Best Buy.
Cases, extras and controllers are available in many stores, between them GameStop and the My Nintendo Store.
Nintendo shared a follow-up called Nintendo Switch 2. It already officially came out and has several exclusive games for itself. The Switch 2 uses an LED screen, which is a bit less good than the exclusive OLED screen of the Switch.
However the image is bigger, which some will prefer. Some users noticed ghosting problems in portable mode on the Switch 2. Nintendo chose unusual solutions for HDR in the new device.
And the old Switch and the Switch 2 received a big update of the firmware untilversion 22.0.0.
The Nintendo Switch Online keeps expanding its collection, including games of Virtual Boy and GBA. Digital versions of exclusive Switch 2 games cost differently than the physical versions. The Switch 2 starting price is 450 dollars.
The rich game library of the original Switch keeps motivating people to buy it, and Nintendo successfully created a strong base for a good video game machine.
